I was thinking of a "retro" looking box section rim build onto fixed hubs for my Motram.
Genuinely though, if they're £5 and you don't mind posting a pair I'd be very grateful :)

I coughed up hundred and ninety four quid yesterday for Hope V twin in the end after reading up on BB7+Sram levers .. if you are quick you can get them from wiggle (3 left in stock) at 15% discount using 15-EXTRA code. Thats the cheapest you can find on the interwebz.
BB7 are £100 for a pair so I don't think it's too much money for V twin considering they are hydraulics, there is weight penalty but I don't thin you'd care about that for this build. -

They also feel weird, they work but dislocated.

sell your arse, but not sure what it would be worth
-
• #57
Gah, i've put the order in. I have 3 frames and 2 sets of wheels I need to get sold now
-
• #58
also ordered pair of hope disc hubs using the same code, again cheaper than anywhere on the interwebz :P
-
• #59
should have just bought the hope hoops wheelset, you can't buy the components cheaper
-
• #60
^ i was confused with that and the one dammit came close to sell but decided to keep in the end but a custom built with velocity A23s is costing me £70 more

I already had some Hope XC hubs from my old MTB. I got them rebuilt onto Mavic A317 29er rims and they've been pretty damned solid (I'm a big chap/fat bastard).
V-Twin might be a nice upgrade some day, but for now I'm going down the Thomson/CK route to add a little sparkle.

Rim wise i've been looking at Salsa Delgo 29er cross rims
I need to do some more reading on them though
Salsa delgados seem to be like bloody hens teeth, Trying to find a 32H one for cheaper than £40 is an absolute mission (<haven't called to check if they're actually in stock though)
Have multiple wanted threads up but to no avail

I'm assuming triton have got them, why else would they have them on the site? I just ordered some other little bits:
Two of these; stainless, natch
And one of these:
Which is for my other little outlay this week:

Have you never ordered something online which turned out not to be in stock?
I wouldn't usually care but that is the only site I've found to sell the 32H version, coupled with the fact I've had a bad experience with them previously, my suspicions are higher than normal.
Did the garmin etrex series not ring any bells with you?
-

eTrex have the bonus of having AA battery meaning 25 hours charge with the ability to replace battery when needed.
Very very cheap compare to the cycling specific one too.

That was 100 quid, it'll do for me. Dammit said he used it for 11 hours straight with out issue.
-
• #67
Gotcha.
If you were gona use it to tour or long distance rides 200km+, then I'd say then that starts to enter the etrex territory, and the old legend/vista models frequently go for £50-£100.
But for shorter/day rides, or for strava/training purposes the edge ones look great and have lots of cool gadgets. Haven't used them myself though.

Frame just came, but I could only grab a sneeky peek as I was on lunch

Figured out your wheel options yet?

Lo and behold an order I made yesterday on some tyres which said they were in stock on the site, turns out they were out of stock and are discontinued from the manufacturer, fucking cheers Tredz
See this shit happens!

I must of been lucky with Tredz. The only time I've used them was for some rims that Winstanley's fucked up. Initial order from Winstanley's arrived and the rims were scratched to hell. Tredz ended up marginally cheaper and arrived well packaged.

I was initially talking about Triton cycles up there, but then I had a problem with Tredz.
I've not used them for anything else, and I imagine they're decent, but clearly not at updating their site! -

It happen when company doesn't do a stock check regularly, which is a poor show.

Tredz are proper cuntz. They're a Swansea company so I've had a fair few dealings with them over the years, they're well known for saying they've got things when they haven't.
I will get you some, no problem. The options for 36 disc hubs are surprisingly limited actually.
