Got a link to them soma tyres?
Build looks great, wasn't sold on the choice of colour at first but seeing it built with the luggage it's really working.
I was pondering this the other day, could you run the frame pump between the bag and the TT? Loosen the straps a little on the bag...

Velo vitality DID have them, but they're sold out now. £45 pop mind you, I'm not sure I'm sold on dropping a ton for tyres. Hence me thinking i'll stick with the 38c pasalas, which have done me well for years.
And, no, I tried it, the Velcro isn't long enough. The pump on top is just as secure, just means that I can't sit on the TT, which is fine because @Hulsroy would just make fun of me for it anyway.

Great work. Those bags really tie the bike together.
But the High5 bottle needs to >>>>

Totally inspired my next planned project, really nice. For all day in the saddle it looks spot on.

Go for the 42mm version, big supple tyres are fucking amazing.
Having said that I can understand the price being quite high, why not go for the Marathon Supreme in 40mm? 490g (HD Speed Guard version) isn't bad for a slightly tougher tyres that felt better than the Pasela, unless you wanna go for that gumwall look.
The Supreme is the best touring tyres you can get for the money, light, supple, smooth and have that Marathon blue gel insert.

Colour is A1 tip top clubbing jam flair.

So great I can't find words.

This, using them on my commuter, rolls so nice, would be nicer if I had wider rims too.
-
• #1087
I've got the Supremes on my Croix de Fer as well. Only a week or so now, but already I am impressed with the low rolling resistance for such a heavier/tougher tire, and at a good price point.

That was me asking about drilling holes in the fork as well. Haven't gotten round to mounting the electrics yet though.
So you stuck those cable guides on the inside of the fork leg? -
• #1089
Bit late, but Re the super nova placement, could you fit it neatly to the rear mudguard?
-
• #1090
Marathon and supple aren't two words I'd normally expect to see together, are you sure?
I would prefer gumwalls, but i'll make an exception if they are actually good.
-
• #1091
Supreme are supple. Also G-One come in 40c.
-
• #1092
Because it's not the Plus, it's basically a large slick tyres with a bit of the blue Marathon gel in it.
Look at the weight dude;
Marathon Plus 38mm - 960g
Marathon Supreme 40mm - 490g.I'm always gonna wax lyrical about Grand Bois/Compass tyres but I do recognised that not everyone would want to get them.

Don't really recommend G-One unless you're doing a lots of gravels, they feel weird on the road.
-
• #1094
Well If Im prepared to buy the soma then the Gran Bois will be an option too.
I kind of want to be tart and stick with gumwalls.

Thanks everyone ekse for the complements, very nice of you to say so. If anyone see some cheap TRP Hylix do let me know as I still might put drops back on.
@Lieven_De_Vlaminck I did yes, very quick and simple
@larsenroad On my to do list, dont worry.
@jambon very eager to hear about this, any hint of what you have planned? -

Basically the love child of this and Ed's NFE.

Compass/Grand Bois gotta be the one. With latex tubes they feel incredible.
-
• #1098
Just lovely. Hoping my BJ will end up something like this.
-
• #1099
Are those bits that fit on the surly rack and hold the rack struts adjustable? do you think they would fit on bigger size tubing? I am thinking of using them as a hack to use longer struts on my Yepp rack

Compass/Grand Bois gotta be the one. With latex tubes they feel incredible.
Even with lightweight butyl inner tube, it already feel great without the payoff of pumping it up regularly.
A+ touring rig, love it
