nr cime de la bonette.. that descent from the summit was possibly the fastest i have ever travelled on a bike..
after 57mph achieved from cormet du roseland to bourg saint maurice,
passing loads of waterfalls you got that brief chilly moment speeding down the mountain.

and after prosecco gran fondo last year, we are set for the Ardennes in May, as we happy few, band of brothers and sisters tackle the liege-bastogne-liege, liberate beers, eat wild boar and sleep / dream about the oldest bike race in the world.. it really doesn't get any better

In 2007 we rode from Barcellonette to Turini in blistering 35 deg c via Coyolle 2326m, epic descent then climb to Couillole 1678m and St Martin 1604m. Through gorges, canyons, past turquoise streams and so many butterflies..
It was possibly the best (longest) day's riding in my life, ever. I promised myself that I would return one day to this corner of the southern alps.. The climb to col du Turini as featured in the Monte Carlo rally is absolutely mind blowing.. Just do a google search of the cols named above and you'll see what I mean..
