South side of the Spluga pass, the summit of which is on the Swiss/Italian border.
And the north side. A road worth riding.

This will be familiar to some, when you get here for the last time you know things can only get better
Unless you're riding 100, in which case there is plenty of pain still to come.

He's had some brilliant road photography on his blog.

I so very badly need to get out of town. >_<
Loving this thread too, inspiration to do something I already love, can't go wrong!
Was thinking of cycling the Thames from outlet to source this summer, but after doing some research found out most of it isn't cycle friendly apparently, now thinking of doing the Grand Union Canal from near(ish) my place up to Nottingham, not a road, but will try and get some of the more beautiful sights photo'd.

The Thames Path more or less runs along the banks all the way from end to end but that certainly isn't cycle friendly. At one point or other I've covered all of that route (running) from Richmond to Lechlade and most of it is just mud track through fields along river banks with plenty of styles/gates etc. That said, although there isn't a dedicated cycle route, I'm sure you could find and follow a very lovely succession of country lanes that took you the entire way. Many of the towns and villages en route are very picturesque indeed :-)

Was thinking about doing IMKalmar but the thought of riding a cumulative 24km on a bridge over the Baltic seemed a lot like purgatory to me.

By way of subscribing, here are a couple of 'readers wives'...
Both Route 1 round the south side of Iceland. Beautiful scenery but frankly they might get a bit monotonous to ride after a while, especially in the wind!!
