A few errors in the times though - they've got I guy I rode the whole way from start to finish with taking nearly an hour longer than me!
-
• #128
And they have two of the people I rode the short route with down for the long route...
-
• #129
They have me down for the long route but I did the short route. Was not as amazingly fast as my time makes me out to be. I did cycle to and from the start from west London though, so I got my miles in.

some lunchtime MS excel ....
Although I accept it is humanly possible to get around in 3 hours, I think the earliest finisher (112km) was probably Matt Hull at 3:38.
Rob Silver is an outside chance, but I think 3:17 is probably quicker than realistic given the wind.
That puts the upstart group in the top 50 finishers, which isnt bad - considering the extended tea stop, and the fact that we were horsing about and chatting.
And everyone else was leaving it all out on the road.
Ahem.some soldier took 7.5 hours (circa 11 mph ave).
I reckon that's a fantastic effort to complete. -

anyone thinking of doing this again?
It's 21 April
112km or 54km -

I may have completed and paid in error.
At least, that's what I'm telling myself right now.

I too have booked my place - really enjoyed last year, even though I was slow and Forever Alone. Wasn't there very good date slice?
-
• #135
Me and him have signed up and going to HTFU and do long route.
Here's hoping for a warmer Easter this year!

It was a beautiful day last year. Relatively. 2012 was much more… 'epic'. Heavy rain all day, and some wag turned some of the route signs around.
I don't live as local as I used to, so I might not be able to make it this year. But y'all have a good time now.

KTB, I'm slower than you so maybe we could be Forever Alone together? I'm doing the short route.

So is this a sportif?
Er, yes.
Sod it, I've signed up.
-
• #144
It's a sportif if you don't stop at a pub and you do ride an inappropriate -read carbon with bling wheels - bike. Otherwise it's a jolly
-
• #145
This is one of those routes where the frequency of pubs by the roadside seems to increase proportionally to the distance covered. I wouldn't blame anyone for stopping.
-
• #146
In if someone will stop for beers with me

• #147
Boom, registered. Nice to see some LFGSS CC names on the list :)

It was feckin' cold though!
I remember it being quite pleasant, but I just looked at a picture from after we finished and I was wearing a neck warmer so it must have been a bit nippy.

It became a beautiful day - sun cracked out just as we got to the pub...
He's just worked out a con way to go faster than it is possible.
It's probably a mistake--perhaps he turned back early and his timing chip was registered when he rode back over the line.
