Mallet Length...

Having a huge list of mallet length stats is fairly pointless IMO. It's completely arbitrary. It's personal to each player based on style and level of polo they're at. Just play more with the mallet you have, if you feel you need more/less reach then change accordingly.

I'm still on 96cm, tried Reej Charlie's long mallet the other day and it felt really quite nice... Got a shaft kicking about that's already been cut down to 102cm that I'm gonna try out...

Mines 103 and we are similar heights I think.

I went up from 96 or something and I'm not sure I like it.

I just went from 97 to 103 and can't hit a teapot.

Longer shafts was definitely the trend, based on our mallet sales. 100-103 is normal for most players now.

I'm trying with 108cm. I'm tall, and the guys named my bike as 'scaffold', or 'tall bike'... hehe. So, the change it's good for me. I have some drawbacks shooting, but rest it's ok. Maybe 105cm... :)

You can't play a short-mallet game on a long one. Think about how a longer mallet could benefit your play and then adjust your approach to the ball to exploit that. Same applies for reducing mallet length.

so whats a 'short mallet game' as opposed to a 'long mallet game'?
