  • Nope, bully cat moved out a while ago and now Patch is the queen of the gardens again! And queen of the household of course!

  • We are into month 2 of feliway atomisers.

Cat has had a shift in behaviour and gone from shouty meowy gently punch you in the face, to having a tantrum and turning into a hissy spitty stamp my feet and spin around demanding pain.

Did leave some biscuits in his high up cave several days back. so far he stands on the bed sniffing the air and looking, but hasn't found the biscuit yet. So he's abandoned that spot.
The tantrums seem to mean "feed me NOW" or "let me out, but i don't know if i want to go out, but you can feed me first"
He's about 10 years old and not liking so much our new rural location with not so many cats about.

Do have Peregrene falcons ripping pigeons apart in the garden so maybe thats spooked him.

  • So a week after my last post, sometimes things have a way of working out.

My colleague decided not to take Mush, but her best friend was looking for an FIV cat that could be indoors, we were put in touch and she came to meet him at the weekend, she fell in love with him, I'm sure he didn't realise what was going on, but he definitely turned on the charm and will be going to live with her in January.

It's a great outcome as he will be going to a lovely home, he's becoming more domesticated as the days go by, he's started sitting on the sofa with me, and he's been more playful this week too.

Our own cat is still stressed out, so it will be good to get things back to normal for her too, but I'll miss this little guy.

  • yes the Kiss* homage pictures :)

*for younger viewers, Kiss is a rock group from the 70's that had weird black and white makeup, the drummer was kinda cat like :)

  • Glad to hear things have worked out well for you both :-)

  • Taking wee Koshka to the vet on Friday morning as he appears to have groomed his knees entirely bald. Doesn't seem stressed, is eating his food, has a wet nose (thanks for the diagnostic tips, mum), no sign of fleas. Hoping it's some treatable irritation and not him becoming a neurotic old man.

  • I'm helping.

  • Ha! had a lot of this last night whilst trying to work. He's found he'll get quite a lot of strokes as long as he stays in the lap, up on the desk and he's in trouble, doesn't stop him trying occasionally though.

  • Unfortunately she has no qualms about walking over everything, auto save is my friend.

  • Fleur proudly trotting off with her kill. New toy and play/reward regime going well. Still far from a lap cat but def less anxious than a few months ago.

  • Cat crisis yesterday; when everyone got home, our 5 month old kitten Nico was nowhere to be found. After much calling and searching, she turned up at the back door.

Seemed quite traumatised throughout the evening, meowing and hissing if we got too close.

Happily, after a good night's sleep on the sofa, she seems fine this morning. Back to her normal high energy self.

  • Sleepy Nico:

  • :( I feel your pain. When Heidi was about 4 months she nowhere to be seen one morning before work. I turned the house upside down for her. After a couple of hours I gave up and came to the conclusion that she must have snuck out somehow and all that commotion during the night with the foxes was the worst. Then i stepped out the door to go to work, and spotted her hiding behind a bush shivering away in front of my neighbours house. The feeling of relief was quite something. Turns out the retard had fallen out of the 1st floor bedroom window (it was the only opening available and she had a limp). After a day she was back to normal though. She still hovers around that window.

About a year later our other cat went out the same window and got stuck on the cill (its like 2 inches wide), and was unable to backtrack the way she came. Had to get creative with a 2x4 to create a bridge from the window in the next bedroom. A few people on the street stopped to watch the drama.

    It hasn't been opened since.

  • Coffee and cat. Found a cat cafe :)

  • Your coffee looks a bit solid

  • Coffee comes with lid, being only person in caff ment 12 cats came from all the places to investigate me.
The Cats like the frothy milk, i would have been mugged....

Now got up close to a Maine coon, 6 months old and bigger than our cat and much more floof..... i think our next one may be a Maine if we can find a rescue one.

  • Where? Being surrounded by a dozen of cats seem a a good way to spend sometime!

  • Maine coons rule.

  • NotInLondon... Shrewsbury.

Randomly walked past saw a basket through the window, assumed it was a dog friendly place then saw all the Cats in a gang at the back.

I only wanted a hot drink. So for £6 i got 30mins and as many coffees as i could drink.
You go in the outer door then you have like an airlock system beyond that, either shoes off, or put on disposable over booties then get mobbed by cats.
Try and remember, couple of moggies, the blue short hair (in the piccy) a Bengal, Ragdoll, a hairless, the soppy great Maine coon (a Thula if you know that one :) broad spectrum of cats.
The walls are covered with walkways and platforms and little beds, big box of toys.

Was worth it to see the walkways set up, something we had thought about doing at home and meet a Bengal and Maine :)

  • One of the plus points for our house was an enclosed porch so we could do the cat airlock thing (we call it a catlock) to ensure they stayed inside.
