Aw, please do :)

Hummm... to be honest, I will probably get another rescue cat, it's a nice thing to do and also it's cheaper. I am not willing to pay hundreds of pounds for a pedigree cat coz I am a cheapskate... might look into a kitten so Patch can play mummy once again...
You might want to think about that- in the picture below is Higgs, our oldest female cat, and her reaction to Tesla, our youngest female cat:
There was zero "playing mummy".

There was zero "playing mummy".
The very reason our house isn't full of rescue cats....our original one is far far too dominant...she thinks she's a well 'ard tomcat.

Higgs spent ~4 months in self-imposed exile, sitting outside in the rain.
She'd run inside, eat her food, then run back outside and stare at us.

But the question is, are they getting on OK now? To be honest, there is only really 1 way to find out if Patch can in fact live with another cat, is there? I can only try and if I fail then... Will cross the bridge when I have to...

Or can someone lend me a cat for a couple of months to sort of try before I buy? Last thing I want to do is to get another rescue cat, have it for a few months and realize Patch will never get on with it, then what do I do? Give up the old one? Give up the new one? It wouldn't be very nice either way...

That photo never fails to amuse, Dammit. That face!

Patch is still a kitten isn't she? I think you should just go and get another before she grows up and gets more territorial. Borrowing another cat for a while is pointless and mean - for both cats! -

According to Battersea she is 2 now, so does it make her an adult cat?

"When you are done wrapping me up, could I have my food please?... There is no such thing as free dinners..." says Patch.

I would like an enormous Maine Coone.
However I am unsure whether this feeling is shared by any of the current cats, or me Julie.

Ain't you worried that Higgs might take Tesla for another exile in the the garden?

Go on , it'll be fine . Trust me .

We seem to have a fairly happy household at the moment, which I'd prefer not to disturb really.
Here is James enjoying me Julie's merino base layers:

Do you guys leave your drawers open deliberately?

Errr...maybe, sometimes, accidentally-on-purpose ;)

Please don't start giving me ideas... Patch has had her eyes on my wardrobe for weeks now... and she wouldn't give up the nicest chair in the flat, she would give you that "I hate you" stare if you dare to sit on her (my) chair...
He is a bit sore and still limping and a bit quiet . Really pissed off at being kept in last night , and escaped this morning after opening the locked cat flap. Back for tea and is now asleep in the kitchen on top of his cat house . He was definately not fighting , no puncture wounds . And all the local cats stay away from him cos of his size . I'll tell him you were asking after him ...
