If you do decided to get a microchip flap, I would suggest getting the sureflap pet door not the cat flap

Rhino is quite big... but I reckon he'll be okay with the door.

I think it was because the pet flap has a timer on it so you can set the locking / unlocking time with not much more money. My catflap on has a dial thing that I have to manually lock and unlock the flap which can be a little annoying especially over the weekends - I DO NOT DO MORNINGS!!! The cat, however, needs to get some fresh air from 6am on the dot!
