"Why can't you have a cat, Lynchman?"
Been traveling a lot with work and frequently having had to relocate. At the moment I'm bedbound due to a biking accident back in March and not even capable of looking after myself, let alone a cat. it's on the cards though...

oh dear, hope you get better real soon.

Just to make you want one even more LM, my cats dont leave my side if I am ever ill. I was bedbound by antibiotics and they just sat on the foot of the bed.

They were hoping you'd die so they could eat you :)

The female definitely wants to eat my wife. Not sure why though...

Do you guys lock your catflap at night? Mine keeps wanting to go out after let say 8 or 9 and I am not sure if I want to risk her not coming back till very late, especially I have just witnessed a black cat chasing her all the way to the door...
-
• #465
Yes. I don't let mine out after they've eaten in the evening. We have installed an electric flap that you set the times on. It also only let's our cats enter.

Oh, didn't know you could get 1 with timer also, I only got a microchip one, still have to manually lock and unlock it. I think she wants to go out at night to have a poop, coz she is never gone that far or long, unlike during the day. Don't know where her toilet is but definitely not my garden or the ones either side, to that I am glad.

What does it do then if you still have to operate it?
Mine are in for about 10 hrs at night in winter months - they're always waiting eagerly for the timer to unlock in the morning and manage to hold themselves til then, though I do keep a litter tray out just in case.

It's basically like a normal 4 ways flap but only Patch is allowed to go through coz it reads her microchip. Do your cats have to wear a tag or sth, or does the flap read their microchips?
I just unlock it when I give her breakfast, but I don't know if it's the weather or if she is feeling a bit poorly (she has been sneezing a bit) she hasn't really been out all week other then sitting by the edge of the garden to watch the world goes by or disappear for short periods. She usually goes out for hours to end...

Cat flaps that read microchips?!*
Jesus, I must be getting old.
*..makes a lot of sense though

:-) Mine can read up to 25 cats... might scan all the neighbours' cats to see if it's that cool.

We used to have loads of cheeky visitors who'd frighten our three cats and eat their food. My two were also going out all all hours which I didn't feel comfortable with given all the foxes round here.
I wonder if you can microchip children...?

Didn't you say your sis is a vet? just ask her for some spare microchips and take the matter to your own hands... we won't snitch.
Miss Mouse, did your 2 cats come as a pair/pack? I am thinking maybe few months down the line, when I finally finish with my never ending studies, I want to get another cat for Patch, she looks like she is so bored half the time...

String FTW. Get off your bottom and entertain your cat, don't you know that you exist only to pander to her every whim ?
-
• #474
and I do, but she still looks bored...
-
• #475
maybe it's just her face...
Just out of interest, did they taste nice??
