  • Wrap him in a towel and don't let go!

  • good luck with the drops, I had to get the dog in a headlock for his. The cat I gave up and recruited my sister to hold him while I dropped the stuff in. No way was I holding the little psychopath.

  • The noise he made in the vets......then the surgery door opens and they got a third person in.......

Might dose a towel in feliway as well.

Had to the ear drops on the other cat (Big Cat) he wasn't so bad but cats can really move there ears about, he kept folding it over so we couldn't get the dropper in :)
Big Cat ran off to live on the farm a mile away over the fields, he lived on free range rabbits and pigeons and pheasants, the farmers wife told me she saw him dragging a Hare across the yard, the rodents where mere snacks.
We didn't see him for months, then the farm called us as they hadn't seen him for a while, we think we saw him basking in the sun at another farm about 10 miles away, we assumed he ate everything and just moved with the food.
Lovely cat unless you where you on his menu :)

  • damn it, edit function not working from this PC, can't correct errors above.

  • at last we know the origins of the cattle mutilation stories... the cat has moved on to bigger game.

  • will find a photo later although it may not do justice to the name "Big Cat"

Ear drops involved me waking up, cat sleeping by my feet and Mrs853 executing a surprise attack on sleeping cat as the ear to be treated was upwards.
Some head flapping and dirty looks and it was all over, cat is now aware, surprise attacks may be harder, only 2 weeks of twice daily treatment to go.

  • How do I add a picture from my phone? Got a cracker of a smug cat and dejected dog.

  • Never mind I figured it out but the dog joined him. I swear before he was lying on the floor watching his bed being violated.

  • Big cat reminds me of my Nan's cat charlie, similar black with white paw's patches, he use dto disappear over the fields to return with rabbits, crows and pheasants , pheasants are big birds!!

but loved nothing more than to laze on your lap, as a little kid he was massive like a big panther to me, cool kitty!

  • My sweety has the most horrible smelling diarrhea. It's evening, I don't know what to do. She keeps going to the litterbox, going back to the living room, lick her butt and head right back to the litterbox. She doesn't look happy at all. I have no idea what to do. She hasn't gotten any strange or new food. She's indoors, she has fresh water in a clean bowl and I cleaned the litterbox yesterday with the same litter she always has. Since last wednesday when I took her to the vet, she's been getting monoclean in both her ears every day to clean them out, except yesterday, because I forgot. I don't want to put that in her ears now. I don't know what to do :S If she's still like this tomorrow morning I will take her to the vet again (have a day off luckily), but I hope someone can give me a hint on what I can do right now to help her.

    I hope someone can help.

Extra info, half an hour later, she's now peacefully sleeping.

  • Got back from holiday to one of my cats limping really badly. Turns out the stupid bugger broke his leg. So after successful surgery, he's now confined in a cage for six weeks. He is not a happy kitty. And we need to put a cone on him to stop him eating his stitches, but obviously he does not like that idea at all.
Oh, and people - if your cat isn't insured, go insure it now. Right now. We'd put it off day after day after day and now I am two and a half grand poorer.

  • Did you go to the vet? Is she ok now?

  • Actually, was so strange. I cleaned her bowls twice that evening and again in the morning with fresh (dry) food in it. She slept for half an hour, ate and drank something, went back to sleep. In the morning she was a happy kitty again.

  • I don't like my cats two and a half grand enough.

  • But I do think they're insured so I don't have to.

  • I don't like one of them a fiver.

  • Am currently feeding 3 different cats. Looks like the Locals here, like the rest of france see it as ok to go on holiday for a month and not bother about their cats.

If a cat will go in to a new space,or house, to eat the remains of a chicken in a bin gets fed in my book. One has fleas as it is scratching alot. All three seem to eat the food quickly and not like cats that are on the scrounge.

  • Can you take them back to London? Id share the load looking after them.... just might as well. It shocks me that people think it's OK to go away for more than a couple of days and leave their animals behind. I was only gone for 4 days and I was worried if Patch is going to be OK, if my cat sitter friend would get on with her, if she would have any last min issues that she couldn't commit to coming etc... for weeks before I actually had to go away. And to be honest, 4 days, worst case scenario I could just leave bowls of dry food and she would have been OK... sometimes human beings can be very disappointing...

  • I sort of had a go at my girlfriend buying cat food when we arrived and went to the supermarket. Then saw a cat that was hungry try to eat a discarded chicken carcass I understood.

These three seem to be really afraid of strangers, but not of food. Tried not to disturb them while eating.

Wholy understand where you are coming from, but I think the best I can do is feed them once a day and see if the cat that scratches alot will let me near to see if I can do something as I feel annoyed that the cat is in discomfort.

  • I think I am going to have to give up on project "get James and Higgs to come back to the flat" as I am out of ideas, and they still won't come home.

    Any suggestions welcomed, however.

  • The neighbours still stealing them? Shit man. Give them up?

  • It hasn't been long since Tesla left though, has it?
Have you made an effort to clean her smell out of things?

You could pretend you're cat-stealing them from scratch, woo them with nice food and stuff. Although cats do often seem to respond better to "oh, cat? yeah whatever" than "here kitty kitty..." so if you give up they might just start turning up at the window.
