I have stolen a cat!
Have had a cat, crying at my door for two nights. The first night I went out three times to see what the cat wanted and didn't want to be let in just wanted some fuss. So gave it some fuss each time. the second time I tried to pick the cat up and she just became limp so put her back on the bin lin. The third time she wanted to be followed I think as she moved on to the front wall and then back to the bin lid.
Last night she got a bucket of water over her for a lovely neighbour threw it over her when she was crying outside. So the cat willingly was picked up, she was shivering so I wrapped her in an old coat and that dried her. She was making pathetic meowing noises, whilst being dried. Once dried and warmed, fan oven not microwave ;) she wrapped her self in a blanket and fell asleep. But not asleep enough that I could move as I'd get up off the sofa and that would wake the cat up and she meows.
Now she has a newspaper bowl she uses as a litter tray and so far eaten a bit of fishfinger and bread crusts, and some pasta with meatballs. Well mainly licked the sauce. Tried her on tinned catfood, felix, and it smells vile and the cat has not touched it. So gave it 30g of tuna.
Going to take it to the vets and see if its chipped and who it belongs too.

This was a nice read.
Also nice of you to take care of it!

Cat is chipped and back with its owner, she is three streets away. Cat is a bit of a tart as she often disappears for a day or two. It was my fault for giving the cat fuss and attention in the past, but I live near cross rail works going on all night and there a foxes too so why would one crying cat be so annoying? Also maybe a stoopid cat for not running away quickly enough when someone threw water at it... Will post up bad phone photo later.

Did you get candy bars?
I once brought back a lost cat to it's owners (right after putting up "found cat" flyers in the whole town), I was rewarded with two candy bars. -

No candy bars, nothing.
But today look who reappeared:

I've just discovered the artist Louis Wain who liked to draw cats. Interesting article here but he deserves further googling

'het Kuipke' is located in a park in the city of Ghent and it's a very old building, I can imagine there's some gaps in it that curious cats could slip through. Either that or they employ them to get rid of mice...

Do any other London catters face the problem of christmas cat sitting? My girlfriend and I are from Manchester, so tend to go north for chimbus and have tried taking our cat with us but he hated it.
Don't much like the idea of a cattery, and the best year was when there was a local friend's house to take him to. Is this a thing that people do for strangers?

We leave a timer down for the first two days and have a mate pop over and feed the cat / reset the timer for as long as we need after that. She probably misses the company but so far so good.

You could probably find a forumenger to do it for you, tbh. Lots of london-based cat fans here if you could face the prospect of letting fixie ne'er-do-well's into your house while you were out ( D: )

What is the function of the timer? Is it to entertain the cat with its merry jingle or something?

We sometimes leave Pip alone for a couple of days if we go away. I'd gladly house cats for people for a couple of days if I knew how they'd get on with Pip; bit worried they'd fight though. If people are south east then I could pop in and feed.

Is Pip the excellent cat who got into your bag?

We pay someone to come round each day to feed the cats & clean the litter tray.
It's not cheap, but we live a bit out of town. When I lived more locally, we occasionally asked people to come round (although the cats we had at the time travelled with us).
hahahaha! wtf!
