  • I have cat custody again this week: Mrs Sparky needs some respite. We're doing good so far. Lads week. I just showed him an ipad game for cats but I had to take it off him - there's something sad about seeing him "catch" the red dot over and over again and being surprised each time that there was nothing in his claws when he looked.

  • Just found out my siberian kitten has lymphoma and leukemia. Poor thing has a matter of months left. Its not even a year old. Really upsetting. He is such an amazing cat.

  • Gutting!

  • Ah shit, sorry to hear that

  • :(

  • That is sad :(

  • That is so rotten. :(

  • oh man...

  • Poor kitty... :-(

  • Crappy news about your cat goonz.

  • Picked up a pair of rescue cats yesterday.

  • Evil genius supervillain and his tough ginger henchcat

  • Nice, cats in pairs are awesome fun.

  • RIP Socky. I'll miss you mate!
Don't know why you died suddenly, maybe it was your dodgy ticker that the vet seemed to think you had. I'm just glad you were in the garden when it happened otherwise I would have had to roam the streets, parks and graveyards looking for you and may have been left forever wondering.
I hope you had a nice 4 years with us and were as happy as you made us feel when we'd hear you meowing from the neighbour's garage roof.
You had your issues, you were very nervous at first. It must have been hard going to that family that took you back after a week because you wouldn't come out from behind the sofa, but I knew you'd be a goodun the moment you put your paw on me from inside the cage at Celia's rescue home.
Anyway, enjoy messing about with all those other cats up in the sky. You don't need to worry anymore.

Oh shit. So sorry to hear this goonz :( Are these diseases more common in siberians or is he just really unlucky?

I hope the coming weeks and months aren't too painful for you both :(

Maybe I am just really tired after a very long day, but I am in tears reading this... Sorry to hear this mate.

A friend's cat died in his garden, he thought the cat was just sunbathing and having a nap. I think it was a kind of blessing that the cat didn't die all alone, somewhere horrible, just like Socky, they both went in an environment that they much enjoyed and had plenty of happy memories.

Amazing how these little hairy things could go so in deep in our hearts...

Hope you are not too sad, mate.

  • Ah sorry J! That is sad for sure. Looks a hell of a lot like our Pox.

  • How's little Pox?? Mr W? Pox and my Patch both have a black nose.... maybe they are related...

  • Perhaps they are. Pox is a dead girl walking quite frankly after a night of lunacy, foot attacking, arm biting, bed running, door pounding, mega yowling, string collecting, toy bringing, glass knocking, headboard walking and face sniffing! I think I had three hours sleep in ten minute fragments. Our crime? We stayed out late and went straight to bed when we got in.

  • I find if the cats are active and dont sleep much during the day then you get a peaceful night as they are usually knackered. If they dont do anything all day but laze about and sleep, get prepared for a rough night!

My tip scatter catnip everywhere that way they should stay pretty hyper all day and then doze off at night.

Some nights ours cant wait for us to get in bed and the lights to go out and they are on the bed in a flash in their respectful spots and curled up immediately. Other times they are no where to be seen.

  • Yep she was obviously under funned yesterday. We're almost at the point of installing cat flaps which might at least give her some options when we're out in terms of adrenalinised Leyton feral cat and kidnapper dodging.

  • ^ hahaha... she is just being a cat. All cats are the same... If I don't let Patch jump on me for at least a few mins 1st thing in the morning and 1st thing when I get home, she gets annoyed...

  • I am thinking maybe I should forget about having a 2nd cat, Patch is sooooo unfriendly to other cats who come into her (my) garden... Today she saw 1 that merely crossed the line, she shot through the flap, and chased that poor thing all the way round the garden.... and her tail was like 3 times larger than normal... maybe Patch is a fucking bitch...
