Ha, not sure of the logistics of that one then! I find they keep the litter from being kicked everywhere, plus it keeps the smell down and you don't have to look at the 'leavings'. Only problem is remembering to empty it as it's much more innocuous just sitting in the corner...

Mine does it with her head sticking out when she does the big business... the only problem with the hodded one is that, as you said goonz, too big and my litter don't last long... but they are only cheap, so...

Mine have an Igloo. In theory it doubles up as a carrier but it's bulky, and after a year or so of being used as a loo, seems a bit mean to carry them in it, plus it would need a bloody good soaking/scrub to get the lingering pong out.

• #1505
Would you be emptying the litter everytime you would need to carry the cat?
-
• #1506
Christ, yes!
-
• #1507
I love it Miss Mouse! goonz, if it was me, I wouldn't bother emptying it. lol
-
• #1508
Lol imagine how heavy that would be!
-
• #1509
That's true, but some cats tend to lose the ability to hold when they get carried about in a cage, so having the litter in it seems logical.

I put towels inside so they can lie down comfortably whilst in transit. Also a liner just in case (Igloo do an "eco friendly biodegradable disposable litter tray liner" AKA a cardboard tray).

I put Patch's blankets inside. Same difference...

Do these unable to hold issues start later on in life, or does it simply depend on the cat?
-
• #1513
Mine don't have incontinence issues - they're not even two!
However, you never know if they are going to get really stressed out when visiting the vet or something so I'd rather be prepared.

I agree with Miss Mouse, I think they get stressed or something and so things just come out. Mine, this morning, was kind of my fault that I forgot to open the flap early enough, but then I still don't understand why did she go into the tray and didnt do her buseinss inside... I think it was attention seeking...

if they pee outside of the garden/litter tray they can actually be ill.. Shadow had a urinary tract infection the poor blighter
Something here might help

Perhaps she thought she still had to go? Think a lot of things with cats are reflex so they do it sort of out of habit like the going into the tray even though she was empty.

If anything it was her body and mind was a little out of sync! as it were. The tray was clean so clearly her mind wanted to go before she actually needed to. Anyway.... Onwards and upwards.
Anyone's kitties get really defensive when their water bowl / fountain or food bowl is taken away from them. Obviously not when they eating / drinking. Whenever I clean or change water in her fountain, she would run to the kitchen and watch me like a hawk. I thinks she is stressed that her "belongings" are being taken away but surely she knows by now that she will always get them back...

Decided to lock both out of the bedroom last night. Usually I let the lady sleep with us but the younger bloke for some reason as soon as the lights go out decides to perk up and start chasing the poor woman around the flat. Hence he has to be locked away on his own overnight.
Had a good sleep without her cuddled up in my legs but didnt feel as warm in the morning and missed her purring by the face which doubles up as a second alarm so she will be back tonight.

Squeek being ornamental
I wasnt too sure on the hooded ones. The lady likes to hang on the edge doing her business so noyt sure how she would take to it...
I do like the size of the litter trays though, much bigger than usual unhooded so I bought one and just removed the hood. Now both just use the same tray. Its like a conveyor belt in the mornings.
