I bought an sst long travel gyro lover cable on ebay.
the small screw on cable lock nipple thing is from on of these:
It's got 2 screws though so I hope it will be strong enough...

If it fails you've got the other brake lever anyway if I understand correctly?
-
• #54
exactly.

I have a bit more stuff now:
I'm slightly scared to use this now though. will rotate it and tighten it very lightly and pray a bit.It actually looks like all there's left is a cog. and some paint, sticker, wheel truing, and cable doubler work.

I'd be more concerned about using that spider's web as a disc brake ;-)
-
• #57
I'm very light. and slow, so not that worried.
btw; who knows about some headset spacers with an outer diameter around 31mm? standard seems to be 34mm

I've used some old Hope and Middleburn spacers that seemed a bit smaller than others that I've used. I can check them for you in the morning.
-
• #59
that would be ace. thanks.
-
• #60
Sorry, both the Hope and Middleburn are 34mm.
They only appeared thinner relative to the others, which are 36mm.
Know anybody with a lathe?

^^ You decided to go for newspaper headset spacers then?
I suppose they're light :-/
-
• #65
yup. and if you look closely you'll see a super low stack masking tape headset. a bit sticky, but weighs next to nothing. and all diy of course.
-
• #66
You've got the logos upside down ;-)
-
• #67
nonono, they're not. they are just in danish. it might look a bit odd to you, but that's just normal.

thanks a lot. I honestly think this is the best looking pompetamine though that doesn't mean a whole lot.

I think he means the Yorkshire rose but IMO if it pisses of a Yorkshireman you're doing it right ;)
-
• #70
I think it was a joke.
-

I was going to sell my Boardman, but there would appear to be zero interest in it, so inspired by your Pompetamine I may paint it white and rebuild it instead.
-
• #72
do it. it's a good look. especially when covered in mud.

I just ordered the Retroshift levers with 10 speed shifters, will run (therefore) a 105 rear mech, unsure about single ring up front or a double.
Anyway, I'm hoping the Retroshift levers will give good results with (yet to be purchased) MTB BB7.
When do you think your's will be finished?

within this month, I think.
I've got everything bar a sprocket, but need to do some work. and I work really slow. -

I weighed those Hope Floating rotors, and the V-Twin BTW.
95g/unit for the rotors and 430 for the whole V-Twin- hoses, unit, fixings etc.
So a total system weight of 620g, fact fans.
Makes sense, looking forward to seeing it together.
Where did you get the parts from?
