  • It eats juice!

Only £2.99 - seems worth it from the reviews:

Excellent piece of kit. - Linda - 03/06/2014
Also compatible with the Protank I.No more blocked airflow, can tighten the protank down all the way to stop it wobbling, without affecting the airflow. No more liquid leaking onto the battery connector.Nice loose draw when fully open, but easily adjusted for any type of draw.A must have for protank users.Great service, fast delivery, great price.

    Essential - Michael - 03/04/2014
If you use a protank at all then get this. Not only solve air flow problems when using some mods, but gives another level of customisation to acchive that perfect vape.

    Must buy - Daniel gill - 03/04/2014
If you have a protank 2 or 3 this is a must buy! Airflow improved for the perfect vape. Great price and fast delivery!

  • Kayfun Lite is vaping like a chimney and tasting delicious... Gonna have to try and get the Dingo/Roller going this weekend as the Vamo 5 turns it into a properly retarded pub light sabre...

  • Try the double barrel build some time. It's a little fiddly but definitely worth it on a mech mod. I got a new Origen dripper last week and it's exactly as I had heard, but the Kayfun is pretty close in terms of vapour production / flavour and carries 5ml, so is much better for out and about.

For those of you having leaking into the battery problems, it's probably worth thinking about the possible routes for juice to get there. I'm not hands on familiar with the Davide or Nature Vape, so I guess it's possible that it's o-rings leaking somewhere above or below the atomiser head. However, I think it's also a good idea to take a look at your wicks. If there isn't enough wick plugging the hole, then juice can leak through and down the airhole, onto your battery. If there's too much wick, it will be choked in the hole, which won't let juice through and you'll get a burnt taste. If you think it's possible that you don't have enough wick, remove the top of the atomiser head, roll up a strand of cotton wool ball and lay it over the top of the wick that's already in there.

You can get new heads for them, but you'll need a soldering iron to do the swap. Probably not worth it.

  • I was chatting to him about using TripHammer liquids and he was of the opinion that a slightly gloopier liquid would be no problem and may suit there coil/wick system better

It'll be less likely to leak with a higher VG juice, but it will wick slower so you might have to use a slightly looser piece of cotton. Getting the wick density right is key to most of this stuff. Building a good coil comes a close second in my opinion.

  • ^ Yup, nice loose wick has made all the difference for me... I think I was bunching the cotton up too tightly before now...

Ben, the double barrel build looks amazing but doesn't it get a bit hot on your throat?

    This one, right?

  • Yeah that one. I've not had any problem with it being hot. It feels like a fairly cool vape compared to a genesis or dripper.

Are you using the Kayfun drip tip? I swapped that out right away. The tiny hole in the top was condensing the flavour, but burning my tongue where the heat was so concentrated. Perhaps it's better suited to low power builds. I don't think the Kayfun was designed to run 0.5 ohm dual coil. It works bloody nice like that though! I would be tempted to aim for a slightly higher resistance with the 2000mAh AW 18650s as they can only handle 10A. So 0.5 would be close to their limits - 0.6 might be a bit safer.

  • Oh and here's mine again. I built this well over a month ago now and have changed the wicks plenty, but not had to do anything with the coils except dry burn. Careful of the insulator on the Kayfun. They are hard to get spares of.

  • I swapped the drip tip right away, didn't like it at all... Got a titanium jobbie from somewhere or other that feels really nice...

That little hole is weird, I had a similar problem...

Haven't really looked into sub-ohm stuff as my Atmizoo is still just a very pretty paper weight... Meh...

  • 'Vape' app is pretty awesome.

Gonna try and backtrack expenses till december 2013 and keep track from now on

  • Also mrs. Lords victoria sponge is tasty :p

Can still use the evod vv battery with the evod clearo, just leaves charging, which is now a fiddly PITA

  • Apollo - I have a couple of spare batteries. You're welcome to one. I will be at the Crown & Anchor on Brixton Rd for most of the day if you want to swing by and pick one up.

  • Depends which threads are stripped. EvoD is eGo threaded not 510, so will be fine if it's just the 510 threads that are knackered.

  • Dibs'd for Horatio...

  • It's the internal ones that have stripped (i.e. to connect to a protank, or a charger) not the external ones

  • Could be tricky getting it to charge then!

  • yeah it's a faff..its charging now... just needs some balancing, and I think like one or two threads are still OK

  • BDW, you really missed out on that coil I had for ya... Best EvoD coil I've ever built, I've even left the Vamo/Kayfun at home today...

Still haven't looked at my Atmizoo, need to get that sorted ASAP before the VAMO finally falls apart...

  • If you have a Protank... don't think twice. Just buy this.

Best vape-related purchase I've made to date. cheap, extremely well designed, and solves like 3 problems in one.

For starters it moves the airflow away from the 510 threads, meaning you can just screw the battery on and not worry about that. seconds, it has an airflow regulator. and 3rd there is no passage for juice to get onto the battery connection!

  • Vamo reading with 2 18350 3.7V batteries (I assume fully charged) is 8.1V

    whut?

also, when do you stop using them? i.e. to recharge? 6V? 3V each?

  • Go steady with the stacked cells. It's generally considered to be a bit dangerous, which is why no other device really offers that I suppose. Don't go below 7.4V. And only use 2 new batteries that have only been used doubled up together to avoid imbalances. Fully charged reading should be 8.4V (2 x 4.2V). If it's less, then one of your cells might be less charged than the other, meaning unregulated charging of the weakest cell, by the strongest cell.
