If I show up with gears and a forum cap will people think it clever irony and might I get in the hipster thread?
I have a checked shirt if that helps, but can only grow a patchy beard and probably not by Sunday.

Not a putdown to anyone, but what exactly is the point of riding a multi speed bike if you're gonna walk the ascents anyway... just puzzled, that's all.

I don't own, nor have ever ridden, a fixed gear or singlespeed bike.
I'm only going to walk if I feel I have to, I don't go in for that HTFU machismo. If you really want to be the big man, hop or handstand it or something.

Wheelie up it like Palu did on ditchling.
I'll be walking up several hills, whether geared or not, as I am a fat sausage with puny legs. Problem?

I'll be fixed, I won't be drinking and I'll be attempting all the hills :)

Sincerely apologise if I offended you or anyone else; like I said it wasn't meant as a putdown. Guess I just got carried away because of my own personal preference for climbing. Love that feeling when you're counting every chain link and you genuinely think your heart is about to explode... Watch me on the descents though and you'll have plenty to laugh about.

Even walking up Canonbie is pretty tough. I went to look at a house there a couple of years ago and my flatmate refused to consider it as she didn't think she could walk up the street.
HA!
Jokes. -

Hats is right. I walked up it last year and my shins were practically parallel with the ground such is the ankle bend caused by the gradient. Imagine living at the top and going down the bottom to the shop for a couple of things and then realising as you're putting the key in your front door after, "oh, cock, I forgot the milk" and having to go back for it. Fuck. That.

I might try and **prevail **on sunday though... I'll see how I feel at the junction.

hahaha. She's right though. I can ride up it but I wouldn't want to carry shopping up there! Also I'm too pussy to ride down the hill and walking my bike down every morning can >>>>>>>I'll be fixed,** I won't be drinking **and I'll be attempting all the hills :)
good man. I'm riding with Al and Bernie too so we can be dry brethren -

i knows y'all excited about The London Classic, but less swearing on this thread please, it's a public forum.
TLC is one of the highlights of the year for sure, decorum reigns on here and on the route.

TLC. Lungs busting hills, knee creaking excitement, and a splash of underage drinking! Tsk tsk Indra!
Looking forward to meeting you and other forum peeps! -

For those of you good people who said you would help put up signs sorry I did not post before it has been a bit manic since I got back to London.
There are around 130 signs to go up from Waterloo Bridge to Tower Bridge
Please meet at Look Mum No hands at 5:00pm on Saturday those who said they could do the afternoon I will contact you with a section to do with about 15 signs.
The signs are laminated A4 arrows with a choice of fixing dependent on the direction fixed with cable ties.
More details later on Thursday

Nope, I'll be joining you in the Cyclists Temperance Society.
But only until the finish, when the wheels on the Pioneer bus are sure to come off.
I have walked up it, but not with a bike.
