I went yesterday good show plenty to see.
If you are cycling there the Bike show is on the East side of Excel but if you are coming off the road follw the signs to Excel West and then use the goods road to access the east end or have a very long walk through the Excel Centre.
I visted the Foffa stand and met Daniel Foffa who is still smarting from the roasting his bikes got on this forum. As he said to me his bikes have got a lot better and as a small shop it would be good to support him so if your going say hello to him he is very friendly. -

I just got back.
It was a pleasant afternoon.
Loads to see if you're a cycle nerd (!)There's no Rapha sale bin for whoever asked, however tongue-in-cheek it was. There is a VERY small Rapha display of the new Team Sky branded gear that comes out in Feb/March. The hoodie will be an essential purchase for me. There's a very pleasant American girl who will happily converse with you about the properties of merino wool.
The track isn't massive tbh. I'd guess at 400m but don't hold me to that. The surface is like that of a sports hall except in the corners which have some red grippy shit on them.
The BMX lads doing backflips and stuff was pretty cool.
There's LOADS of cheap Pearl Izumi gear. Jerseys and bibs at 20 and 30 quid and gloves and mitts for a fiver but they're samples so they're all in medium only.
I went to look around and had no plans to buy anything but the Carradice stall had messenger bags made from reclaimed advertising hoarding... obviously not unique or original but for £35 from a renowned brand, I couldn't say no.

Did you watch the 2nd cat race?

Did you watch the 2nd cat race?
I did.
Even as a novice/newbie to cycling, it was quite evident that there was a big gap in the abilities of the different riders so it made for an interesting watch. -

I heard a chap lapped the field, was this from the off gun or an attack during the race?

I strolled over after the race started to see a couple of guys tear-arsing round the track like pure bad-asses whilst other riders just got in the way.
I'd have guessed that he was just a better rider all round.

If it was anything like last night, went off the front at the start and no-one else got close (this was the format for both the races last night)

Aye, not a bad idea.
Just wanted to see if that is what happened.

"Can I see your ID young man?"
Do people seriously check for that?
Only ever had it when I was buying petrol. -

Went today, spur of the moment decision. I had the intention of looking at three bikes I was interested in, and narrowing it down to one. Luckily for me, all three were on display at various stands. I've not been to this sort of cycle show before, so I had nothing to compare it too. Everyone I spoke to on the stands were great. I'd go again but hopefully without the bad weather, which reduced the amount of time I could spend there.

Yeah this apparently Cat2 guy was already half a lap in the lead after the first lap! He was taking the corners at some speed!!! Really impressive to watch!
Good luck with your race today!

Epic day out, show was much bigger and dare say better than last year! Great time at the races, only thing I found was that it was too warm to race, the hot air con in the building made your mouth and lips really unbearable to race!

I saw the first heat of it.
Gonna film it?
Really wanted to make it for the track bike crit but can't get a 1/2 day tomorrow so a San Miguel or two to whoever can film it.
