In a very confusing marketplace it seems like the Quarq crank based power meters are coming highly recommended. Has anyone got a DZero or DFour and have anything good or bad to say about it?
Would be for a BB30 frame (currently with a Praxis adapter for Shimano cranks)

Had 3 different DZeros and an Elsa.
Quarq are very well reviewed and very well priced.
They do exactly what they say on the tin to a very good claimed accuracy (DZero) and look pretty good too.

For anything powermeter, computer or turbo trainer I tend to look to DC Rainmaker for his reviews.

I've got a DZero on my touring bike. It works. It's never stopped working. Boringly reliable really, although I've only done about 4k km on it so far.

Making a comeback, Nick?
I’m a long term user of a Quarq DZero and have been impressed with the reliability, basically have had trouble free usage for the past four years.

I've got one too, it raced last year's ultras and doesn't squeak like my well-neglected Rotor. They both do what they're supposed to do. Changing the battery on the Quarq is easier than the Rotor, especially if you have an overbuilt BB area like on the Shiv, in which case you need to remove the cranks.

I may have a spare Dzero with BB30 cranks and chainrings available.
(130BCD though- so 53/39).110BCD because I dont remember what cranks I have in the piles of spares.
As with others- it always seemed to work well. Much more reliable than my assioma's. -

A mate of mine has a low mileage wireless srm on those fancy cannondale cranks he’ll be selling soon. I think he said 2k with the srm pc8 but can ask him again if you’re interested.

Just sniped an old PowerTap SL+ wheelset from eBay to use on the commuter (for no other reason than I can as I'd just sold a bunch of old stuff I had lying around).

I've got an older Power2max unit (the pizza slice one) on a set of Rotor 3d cranks.
I've just removed them from one of my bikes and noticed that the DTT bolt has unwound from its fitting on the NDS side.
Velotech do a repair job which is £41 (plus postage) which is pretty annoyingly expensive - now considering replacing both crank arms instead as it wouldn't cost that much more and they are pretty beaten up.
Has anyone done this? I've been trying to find a compatibility chart for Rotor cranks and the P2M spider as they have released a few new models recently.
If I just buy some new crank arms for a 24mm spindle they should fit, right? -

I've swapped Rotor 3df and 3d+ cranks with P2M S-version?. But I don't know your model.
DTT? I need more coffee
EDIT: you say 24mm spindle so you have 3D24?
-
• #9643
Yeah it's the 3D24.
DTT is a fucking stupid thread system that seems to break a lot of the time. Infuriating.
The drive side is totally fine, only the NDS is an issue.

I mean, it looks different but the method should be the same.

You need two types of Loctite, see this:

I really need to redo mine. Since the last TCR they squeak like a bastard. I think since the first one I've probably developed some play in the splines so there's only so much loctite will do.

Has someone else noticed that most pedal powermeters are currently pretty much out of stock. I was looking for a favero or garmin but cannot find anywhere. I guess they are releasing new models soonly or whats the reason...
-
• #9648
Ta, I'll take a look.
Two types of loctite. Awesome.

• #9649
I did hear that Garmin are about to bring out their new Vectors

One is essentially a gap filler, which takes up the imperfections in the spline interface and the other one is a mild thread locker for the lockring.
I'll drop you a WA brother
