I guess. I'm a massive faker tbh, 53t outer but only a 13up cassette. Average compact rider has a bigger top gear than me. Do like my 40t inner though.

Yeah I run 50x13 right now. Can be a bit annoying doing efforts. Did have a 50x11 for training but wanted to test out this 13-30 cassette.
The thing with 110 is it allows you to have any rings. 130 is out of date now. 110bcd and you can have 52/36 11-28 for uk riding and maybe put on 50/34 if you go to the alps or somewhere.
Just see shimano and new 4-bolt cranks as example. You can run any rings.
Flexibility is cool.

You can also get normal double chainrings in 110, should you want them.

forgot to mention; my P2M will come with 50/34 noQ rings and spider removal tool

You've still forgotten a price.

My Powertap stopped giving power during red hook, and hasn't magic'd into life tonight. This is a battery issue right?
-
• #5285
Usually.
I need to do a battery swap on the P2M soon.
-
• #5286
It was a Garmin issue
-
• #5287
What was the issue? Did you pair it with another unit or something?
-
• #5288
I think that might have happened. I was riding close to Xav at Red Hook, and thinking about my peak wattage recorded is very similar to what he said his was from the ride and a good 200w higher than my all time power PB, which was unlikely given the conditions.
Also my power dropped out once we stopped riding together. So yeah, looks like my Garmin paired with Xav's PT.

I've had that happen with PM's during sprint obvservation training with someone using an SRM - my Garmin just dumped my PM in favour of theirs. I didn't notice until the end of the session, when I'd done two more 200m efforts. Dick.
The issues with my track PT turned out to be a Garmin issue - resolved by pairing with two head units and comparing data, then factory reset of my Garmin. S
Garmins are dicks.

I did a bit of side by side testing with Stages and PT track too (for anyone who is interested) - Stages tested well (+/- 1%) from z1 to vo2max - but after that became progressively more inaccurate, topping out with a 7% difference at peak power.
Conclusion: Stages is probably a pretty good compromise if you're training/racing TT's, tri's or anything that involves more steady state stuff. It's not very good for; accurate measurement, sprint training or stuff like crit racing. Which, as far as I can remember is what DCRainmaker concluded.

Already covered I know:

Never knew it was so chunky!

Cadence range up to 180rpm. Bit rubbish.
-
• #5293
Yeah, for that 0.001% of cyclists who happen to race on the track and give a shit about their cadence.

Real men turn left

Cadence range up to 180rpm. Bit rubbish.
Does anybody actually do over 180 apart from spin-outs on the rollers? That's about 48.6mph on a 90" gear
-
• #5296
I do rev outs at least once a week, so yes... Anyone racing track basically.
-
• #5297
Any evidence for a benefit from doing way over what you'd ever do in a race? 250rpm is an impressive feat on its own merits, but if you never go over 170 against a realistic resistance what is the point?
-
• #5298
90" gear lol
You're not keeping up with the track league gear inflation trend.
Next year it'll be 60T rings all round!
-
• #5299
Well my max cadence has been slowly going up during 200m efforts, so.. Yes?
Obviously there is no control group here and I do other types of training (mostly CV and strength stuff though)- but given that most sprint coaches will prescribe them for their athletes, and all the more experienced people I race/train with do them, I'd say they're probably a contributing factor. I couldn't tell you why though.

Does feel a bit like an arms race sometimes. Why anyone would need anything bigger than 94" (and even that is huge on a windy night) for bunch racing is beyond me.
No issue.
110bcd is for heros.
130bcd is for pretenders.
