This is LFGSS, I believe that topic drift is part of the idea.
Following chart is NP on the Y, time on the X, for the last 28 days:

Your FTP is 280 or over AICMFP

Those charts give a very high level over view - nothing really stands out so I dont think any answers are to be found there. I'd say get some decent training in in over the next few days, rest for a few days then test!
The most important thing with power is to not over analyse any particular session, but to have faith in the PMC and your training targets. This will enhance your training and give you confidence to push when you should and rest effectively

Heh, it all comes back to doing a proper test- I shall fit one in this coming week.
What am I training for? I'm doing a duathlon in June, the cycling is ok however I keep tearing muscles in my left leg when running- which stops me running.
And is one of the reasons I've not done an FTP test as I've had 1.5 legs for the past 28 days of that^^^ chart.

I hope you heal fast man. I've been meaning to sign up to a 25 miler as I'm over due a test. Does anyone on here TT regularly?
-

There is a thread dedicated to TT's in the rides and races sub-forum where the pointy-hatted are to be found.
My duathlon is 21km long with 1.5km of climb- I don't think I'll be going fast enough for the hat to help.
I'm intending on shaving off all of my body hair, and removing any other weight that I can semi-legitimatise.

I'd do some slow off-road jogs to strengthen the legs, with minimal impact. Although thats not helping my knee niggle much. Took a big hit to the knee in a rugby match 6 weeks ago, and cant seem to shake the injury off. Tis only a niggle though (HTFU etc.).
I've been asked to play in the national 7s championship the weekend after the duathlon. So I'm going to have to be at full 'match weight' :(
On the plus side I'm popping over to Geiranger tommorrow for a recy ride.
In power related news. I did a 70min ride on Saturday. Nothing hard, but I pushed myself a touch. HR average was 142bpm, probably 15bpm off my FTP rate. The powercal gave an average power of 175watts. Which is a way off my 266watt FTP. Sound reasonable?
I realise thats a fecking silly question.

I'd post the ride graph. But getting a Bryton file onto google chrome is way beyond me.

Looks like it ticks all your boxes.
Except the one that says "new bike should not cost as much as your home deposit".

• #349
If you're spending 12 hours on a TT. How much time can you spend at home.
Sounds like a reasonable use of funds to me.

Apologies if i'm teaching you to suck eggs here too - It sounds like you have a fair idea of the concepts around training with power already?
