• Why is there 3:23 in 'active recov' when the whole ride was 3:02? Is that graph related to the ride?

  • I can nudge the FTP up a bit more which will bring the TSS down, but it feels like vanity (if you see what I mean), without having done a test to back it up.

If you can do rides that are .9 IF then there's no reason you can't do a proper FTP test.

The bar graph is from Strava- that's the output of the 910xt, the Training Peaks info is taken from the PC-7.

  • I average 100 TSS points per turbo session. Thats for an hour of intense intervals, with a slightly underestimated FTP.

I'd never heard of TSS points before a week ago. Are there badges involved?

  • I have my Bronze TSS badge, I've asked my mother to sew it onto my PE bag.

At it's most basic, 1 hour at threshold is 100 TSS points, is my understanding- hence when I managed to score over 100 TSS/hour it attracted some derision.

    As that should be impossible.

  • All my stats seem to have improved during the week. Its kinda nice being at the start of taking stuff seriously.

Really want to get over 3 watt per kilo. Which I reckon I can achieve pretty quickly.

  • For a climb, or an entire ride? I don't think I've ever hit that for an entire ride.

  • But then I am a massive fatty.

  • Uh oh. Just pulled the trigger on P2M Rotor 3D+

  • Where did you get it from?

  • Ebay, it's 110 pcd and 175 rings so not ideal for me, but itchy trigger finger got the best of me..

  • Want to swap arms?

    My 3D+ SRM came with 172.5, I'd prefer 175's.

  • Deal. How they looking? These look sparkling from the pics..

  • [Picture of Rotor3D+/SRM cranks]

  • I'd def take the vendor up on their offer of sending the meter back to Germany for the update btw- meant to totally cure the drift issue.

  • Hmm, I had been wondering about that. Do you think it's really worth it? Are the issues that bad?

  • If it was me I would 100% do it.

There is loads of info on wattage about it if you can be bothered to trawl through it, but in a nutshell it makes it much more accurate.

  • Yeah tried to look at that forum before but it wouldn't let me in.. Probably going to cost me an extra £100. Have asked him to hold off on postage so I can think about it for a day or two..

  • For clarity, it's the temperature correction update that I think is important: http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2012/08/power2max-announces-updates-to-power.html

Yeah, that was one of the few negative blogs I read about it.

    I meant FTP wise.

I'm at at least 2.8 watts per kilo now. I'm cutting my weight lifting down, and losing weight pretty quickly. While at the same time focusing on threshold stuff on the bike. Seems to be working.

Its finally dried here. So I'm off out for a ride this evening. What do you set your powercal display to? I had mine at 3 second average, but it seemed to jump alot. The next option I have is 30s, which seems a louch long.

Do these ever come up on T'bay without arms?

I had Rotor 3D cranks with 165mm arms, that I had to special order. So I'd really like to keep them.

Ah, gotcha, my target is 4 w/kg for this year, I need to lose ~5kg, and, of course, confirm my FTP rather than guessing it!

I had a look but cannot find the email, from memory when I enquired the powermeter itself is ~770 euro/660 GBP or thereabouts.
