I do yoga and Pilates. Sauna. Stretching and rolling.
So hardly TSS enduring. But very good stuff. ;)
-
• #1303
They let you do that kind of stuff in gyms these days?
-
• #1304
Apparently so. Me and a bunch of women.

I'm with Hippy on this one- I have cycled zero miles today, but I've demolished a wall and carried 400 bricks from the ground to the first floor.
I'm going to suggest that this would have an impact on my TSB.
-
• #1306
Yes. I agree.
But would it positively add to CTL in terms of fitness? No.
-
• #1307
I think that it's all an aerobic activity, but did I get to 140 bpm? No.
But I must have missed the memo which said that significant effort over many hours didn't add to fitness.
-
• #1308
I don't believe so. Not cycling anyway.

I'm not from Gallifrey so only have one CV system, so I think that any exercise will improve basic fitness.
I would agree that working on fitness on the bike will give more results that are specific to that form of exercise.
If we imagine two subjects, Adam and Bob, and give them an exercise program as follows:
A, runs 10k every day, cycles for 3 hours on Sunday at tempo
B, cycles 10k every day, cycles for 3 hours on Sunday at tempoWhich of the two would you expect to win a race against the other, all other things being equal?

I don't exclude stuff because it does not exist.
I exclude it because it does not add to my CTL, cycling fitness.
If i were to go on a 10k run, i'd have to think about adding it. But as I would never do such a thing, i don't have to deal with that issue.
How would you quantify a day of DIY in form of TSS? Right, I can't.
So I'll add into my diary. DIY, lifting 2x6s into the loft and moving the flooring around.
Then if i've tired legs, I'll be able to see that I did DIY. But not have some obscure added TSS value. -

I've got one of those in the toolbox if anyone wants to borrow it.
-
• #1315
I saw them but dismissed it as a halffix for a aituation that really needs the really thin.g.
You ever use it Neil? Any good?
-
• #1316
I never got round to it- intention was to mount my Rotor SRM on the track bike.
Mine is the Bdop version- significant price difference to the Bergstrom.
Looks nicely made, but that's all the review I can really give it.

I've been using the Rotor Power crank on two bikes for about 6 months now, very good bit of kit, I've got one on the Turbo and one on the winter bike, Both working brilliantly, the training software is quite useful and it's quite fun to look at the L/R balance bit
May be coming up to sell the Turbo power crank as needs must, so if anyone fancies i'll put it up for offer here first

Awesome! Which ones did you order? Rotors?
I'm kinda tempted to get Vectors, but a) not sure I really need it and b) all my road pedals are spd-sl now
-
• #1320
I have the Rotor 3D cranks in 165mm already. So I just ordered a S-type spider for those.
My mate has the Vectors, and loves them. A few set up niggles (seems a campag record chainset doesnt give the required chain-to-pedal spindle clearance). Plus you really need a torque wrench to install them. But finding a tool to do this on the spindle flats, isnt easy.
I definitely dont 'need' a power meter. But I know I am a total fitness nerd. So I will use it loads, and get a lot back from it in terms of further enjoying my hobby.
I'm a little unsure about investing so much in a somewhat outdated BB type. But I cant justify upgrading to 3D+. Not when I fully intend to ride the Racemaster til it dies on me.

Did we not have this here?
From Sky's recent Majorca training camp. SRM have been dropped from the Team Sky web site too.

What will Froome look at during his bike ridez now?!
His stem. As normal.

Budget cuts? Would think top pros need left / right balance.
4hrs riding = 20hrs recovery = easy :)
