I would think, with 75% probability, I'll be in the US for a week at some point next year. (I could've gone out there next week if I didn't need to be here to look after children).
If you reckon you can get 3 Stages power meters past customs, then I'd certainly be interested in having an Ultegra one for the Red Bike. At UK prices it's just a bit too much, at US prices it's sufficiently tempting than I wouldn't resist that temptation.

I think stages is a good solution. Maybe this is just me. But swapping a modern NDS crankarm is far easier, and quicker than swapping pedals. Its a shame Crank Bros dont do quattro road cleats anymore (although I have a stash). I'd just run something like a candy pedal. and have a standard cleat on MTB shoes, and a Quattro cleats on some road shoes. Minimal bike prep time.

If training on feel was good enough for Il Campionissimo it's good enough for you.
He died young because of a lack of Powermeter in his diet.

The Stages system doesn't work with carbon crank arms so would only be able to work on a few of the lower end Campag cranks.
I'm having weekly changes of mind what power meter I'm going to get. Basically I think I need 2 and can barely afford 1. At the moment P2M is winning will have to swap it between bikes quite a lot but should hopefully be quick.

Yes p2m would be my choice right now as well. Allthough I am really tempted by the rotor 3d+ and rotor 3d quarq versions going second hand for 1100-1300 at the moment

If I buy one of these...
Can I fit a P2M spider? I know that with the 'normal' 3D+ crank you can, but is this aero crank any different?
-
• #1058
Why would you buy one of those? Hideous graphics.
-
• #1059
I would think that the spider would be interchangeable, otherwise it would mean that they made a specific pair of arms for that crankset, which feels unlikely.

It fits ALL THE BIKES. Even my MTBs, with the right spider.
So if I bought P2M road and P2M MTB for Rotor - complete coverage. For my geared bikes anyway.
But yeah it's not a beaut.

If you want a Rotor crankset, I've a brand new, never fitted 3DF that is likely to be surplus to requirements. 172.5 mm and 110 BCD.
-
• #1062
I'd like 170s.
Yeah I know 172.5 is hardly any difference. But I've always ridden 170.
-
• #1063
I swapped my 172.5's for a pair of 175's for that very reason.

Bum-sticks... tomorrow I'll be booking my flights for a 10day trip to Arizona in mid-late November. No one has bought my boat yet and unless they do, I won't be able to afford a power meter (probably P2M). Feck.

P2M arrived yesterday. Now have to crack the Dremel out to fit my 110BCD Q-rings. Anyone have guidance on how to do that?
-
• #1066
Calibration will be slightly off wont it
-
• #1067
From using q-rings?
The website says...
"Do I need to recalibrate my power2max if I change the crank or chain rings?
Changing cranks or chain rings does not affect calibration. You can also use oval chain rings (e.g., Rotor Q-Rings, Osymetric, etc). "...though I realise that might be a simplification.

If you find a nice idiot proof guide please post it.
I hope to have this problem come January.

Dremeled it 'by eye' tonight. Seems like a lot of material to take out of something where the structure is fairly important. Might treat myself to an OCP3 only ring at some point just for the reassurance value.
P2M, Rotor 3Ds and new bottom bracket all fitted and ready to go, which was much more than I expected to get done in one evening. The bike just needs a wash now!

Due to a bit of work related excitement I would feel more comfortable with a bit more in the bank than I currently have.
Therefore- if anyone would be interested in a year old Cannondale Hollowgram SRM with Power Control 7 head unit then please let me know.
It's this one, but in 110 bcd- I currently run 52/36 Praxxis rings on it.
£1,300 takes it away.

Does anyone use Golden Cheetah? Opinions?

Cadence have some Rotor Power cranks, BNIB, on sale for £1,050 right now- good price.
They've also got some Keo Power pedals for £1,100, but they're a bit shit so I'd ignore them.

Got a link for the rotors?

So neil with regards to fixed wheel power.
The conclusion was, in order of expense.
Power Cal
Cyclops powertap
Vector?
SRMWith powertap being first choice and SRM after if you've cash?
