They seem to be advertising in the UK and Europe now and have put their prices up accordingly but still probably not a bad shout. I wouldn't be scared away by chinese ones but I would like to use my shimano cranks primarily. Second choice would be to pick up some rotors or Sram and use the Sigeyi

I've got a Magene Ultegra R8000 (dual sided rather than just one crank arm) PM but it doesn't look like they sell the single-sided crank arm option any more.

Don't know what BB system you're using but I've got a set of Rotor 3d24 cranks with a p2m (pizza slice edition) which I'd pass on for £200. Used condition and the chainrings are brand new. Can send pics if you want

Probably would have been interested in that actually but I just got brand new rings for my Dura ace cranks.
I'm likely going to be looking in a few months -

Yep, it's on the other half's road bike now after doing a few years of ultras.
It's been through more than most powermeters that's for sure! I've got the newer gravel P2M on my grav bike too and the 'dale version on my Shiv. -

I’ve also owned a couple and, like Andy, have never had an issue.
I’m not crazy about the new rubber battery cover, as it feels like it could pop off mid ride (though never has to be fair) leaving the battery compartment open to the elements. I have a spare in my toolkit in case. -

What grommet.

Total design fault. Thankfully its not given up the ghost yet.

Those ones take the battery not rechargeable. Those covers can come off. But worse, the plastic clips can brake too then you can put a cover on.
Unless that's a mad deal, I'd get the recharge one. Or the older screw fit plastic cap

thanks for this. Putting aside plastic cover issue, I thought standard battery was better than rechargeable - in the long run - as inbuilt batteries lose capacity. but maybe it's like Di2 with charges few and far between

I’m assuming this would be for a road setup? If, I wouldn’t worry too much as there’s not much likelihood of that area hitting anything. I do think the design is totally unsuited for off-road.

I think the item would be obsolete or broken before you reach that point. I am sure they can swap anyway. Just a bit of solder needed.
I've done maybe 1500 hours on my one and can't say I notice it drain fast. I can't say I need to charge it often either.

A new one of those is 490 eur. I'd think twice about buying 2nd hand yo save 70 eur.
Or the rotor one new is 290eur

thanks, indeed i took it wasn't such a bargain.
I always thought PM were out of my needs and therefore budget, but using gxp across the board i am thinking it could be fun to try it out without much fuss. -

yes it would have been

I've bought a P2M classic off of here as a bargain, and it works flawlessly. Any time I thought it'd died on me, it was just a case of replacing the battery. I think is about 9 years old now? Pretty much bang on sync with my Elite Direto and Powertap G3.
Wouldnt say that for 350 thats a bargain, but can definitely recommend the brand.
Edit: With the sale theyve got on you can basically buy a brand spanking new powermeter, a used rotor crankset, a rotor tool, and a BB for around £350. And thats with the import tax.

Aces, something to mull over

I got the ng eco, currently on the gravel bike ... you can put a zip tie around the rubber cover to lock it into place. I think that makes it pretty secure as it cannot clear the rubber clips like that.

and now it turns out i have a spare rotor 3d30 cranskset... barely used as from a cervelo bbright. need to find out if that cervelo spider can get removed.

I might have a Quarq Dub Dzero power meter up for sale soon with 165mm carbon crank arms if anyone’s interested
Spider based ones from Sigeyi get decent reviews and are not much more than that. Some may be nervous about buying from China but my Magene one is pretty accurate and has been trouble free
