Trying to drive anywhere in the Dales on Saturday.
Am taking my cross bike in case of road closures

Toying between cross and phicksie. I reckon that the only serious riding I will do would be if I decided to try and attend the forum outing to Haworth from my base at thingy house where the official kick off happens.

With cross you can go worry the sheep

Careful lad, you'll get wool trapped in ' derailleur. Best keep it simple, like the locals.

Hi, I'm going up to Sheffield for the TDF weekend 5th, 6th and will be taking a van so can transport one other person and bike (and possibly an extra bike) if anyone is interested. Will be going out for a ride with a mate up there onto the route and you'd be welcome to join us for the ride and beers.

Brun - I'm not going to be too far from there on Saturday - how far from Hawes 'Spectator Hub' (must have a bar no?) will you be?
Spectator hub?? Will look this up.
Fun Hawes Facts: I had the greatest fish and chips of my life in Hawes. Given the amount of chips and fish I've eaten in my life, this is actual high praise.
Also: don't forget to visit the Hawes Rope Maker once your done with all that bicycle nonsenseHoward and I are going to be camping in Broughton at the Rapha Tempest festival, so might join you in Haworth as well if you don't mind?
YUSS! that'd be ace!

Luci, me and 3 mates will be down from bonnie Dundee and are staying at Ilkley, sounds like we'll be close to where you are. We're planning a ride from ilkley, watch the caravan and race on a hill somewhere and have a few tins then head back to Ilkley for the finish on the big screen or a pub. Might meet you guys if it suits.
Pop up to that spot I've quoted earlier - it looks absolutely perfect. It would be ace to make it LFGSS Hill!!

That would be brilliant! I'll quote that spot again - honestly, it should be a great vantage point, and I'll try bring some vittles to share and maybe some spray cans to decorate the road.

Is thingy house Harewood House? I'm there on the Saturday - The spot is just across Lower Laithe Reservoir outside Stanbury

I'm hoping to be at Holme Moss for Stage 2

^ good choice. Bring jacket though - it can be fucking freezing up there, even on nice days. It's one of the hardest climbs I've ever done but the descent is awesome!

Random but my flat i rent out was mean to be occupied but the new tenant isn't moving in till the 8th now due to bereavement
This has cost me money to have it empty but the silver lining is that i am in harrogate and it's tour de france week!Anyone need somewhere to stay during the tour de france? I have a 1 bed flat with no furniture in it, a shower and kitchen - if you wanted to crash there with sleeping bags it could easily hold 6 people with bikes and its available from now until monday - much more dignified than a campsite / bivvy bag / sleeping in the bushes.
Central harrogate less than 1km from the finish line on the first day, 50metres from the race route second daywas thinking **£300 **for whole weekend, if there is 6 of you (you could easily squeeze more as you have 2 double bed sized rooms) it's mega cheap for harrogate accommodation this weekend i think and it covers my loss of the flat being empty for the past 3 weeks
pm me if you're interested
Where will you be watching the race, matey? Just 'arrygit or will you be going further afield?
-
• #293
playing host to loads of people so trying to keep them all happy but 'arrygit for sure, i've got work commitments on the saturday afternoon so will be at the finishline behind the scenes hopefully mingling with some pros
Fingers crossed for a cavendish win of course - will be epic for us if that happens! -

Is this just the Yorkshire thread? Or are people meeting up in London too?
I'm thinking of popping down to Green Park on Monday or thereabouts.

I think I'm going to head to the Olympic park then once they go past ride across to Limehouse to catch them again. Or try heading to somewhere near the finish.

Run up the side of the road carrying a stuffed badger. I'll guarantee it'll get you on telly.
