Thank you.
For some reason all routes were leading me to cycling news which wasn't displaying any info.
All sorted now.

No Chavanel?

For those who hadn't clocked it, it is worth noting that Sagan won't race P-R.
Podium from Cancellara, #nothedging

He's there

Chavanel and Roelandts I forgot, and Vandenbergh seems to be in form. You wouldn't bet against Cancellara, but he will be very heavily marked.

Vandenbergh=domestique form or no form.
He'll only go if something terrible happens to Chava, which would probably have Stijn on the backfoot anyway vs. Cancellara
Cancellara will be marked by everyone though that is fair to say
Thor is back on form aparrently, following some knee injury? A lot of knee injuries in the peloton this year no? Get the cortisone out -

The only way Vandenbergh could podium is a la Vansummeren, i.e. all the favourites watch each other and a super dom rides away from the break. Unlikely I know, but he is going very well.

I'd like to see Phinney in the final selection but I'm not sure how he would be able to get the better of Cancellara, barring mechanicals.
Anyone seen a weather forecast yet?

Vandenbergh looks strong give you that much.
I'd love Phinney to win. Id imagine it's going to be shitty -

That's not quite what happened when Vansummeren won though, is it? Any team wanting to work out how to beat Cancellara should be watching the 2011 race again, and working out a plan accordingly.

Push him off his bike

A marginally better sprint, I think.

See if you can bridge riders up to an existing break after the Arenberg? You need strength in depth and someone who can finish the job to play that game, which is why Vandenbergh came to mind. That and he is lanky, obviously.

T-V
I know Lars Boom will be motivated to the max, like many others he dreams of one day winning P-R above anything else. He will be in the final probably, but I'm going to be very surprised if he actually gets in with a chance at the podium. So far it does not seem to be his year for having great spring form. Although he really wants to be a 'classics rider', the last couple of seasons he seemed to do much better in shortish stage races later in the year, like ToB, ToP etc.

I am pretty excited about PR this year. Anyone know why Sagan isn't starting?
-
• #1822
According to Cannondale he is not best suited to ride the cobbles and he needs some rest before the Ardennes.
Didn't ride last year either.

He has far more of a chance of winning Amstel Gold than he does of winning Paris-Roubaix.
The million dollar question is who he'll come second to in Valkenberg?

Bauke Mollema of course :-)
p.s.

the CaubErg is the best known climb in the village of ValkenbUrg

I typed it with a 'u' and decided it looked wrong, so changed it.
