I;'m trying to decided to do the Willy Warmer or the Hard Day in January ride.

Oh dear, I think we may have missed the entry deadline for that one anyway.
Always worth contacting the organisers direct to see if there's still space.

Yeah, thanks Bill, I just sent a friendly request to squeeze me in.

Just reading through that thread, people are talking about finishing at dusk- this is a 60 mile ride?
What have I missed here- you set off at half nine, surely you'd be back at the start by around 1pm?

I did this 2 years ago (shortly before heading down under) and it was awesome. Be cairfull on the desents, we had crashes all over the place due to the ice on the road. (no bad crashes though, more like fun crashes). Stay safe people.

Well, not quite- I mean is there a significant amount of time spent queuing to get your brevet stamped (I hope I've guessed what a brevet is), navigation based challenges and so forth?
I need to tell my mother whether she can expect me for lunch, which I had thought would be a good target, but if people are taking 7 hours to do this then I might have to think again.

Balmain broke his rip you hobbit. I had the flu and tried the club ride but turned back. A few people came off in Hertfordshire. Bmmf always rides with spikes. It probably was a bit colder then forecast for this weekend. But I believe Skully left his head in the loo on the train out and found it, was the same train on the return. Lucky man.

Also obvious troll has Strava and based on recent performances we'd be looking at a bit later than half one :P

If any of us has an accident this year and breaks a couple of arms or whatever you can just scrape whoever it is into a hedge and be on your way. :p
There's a little bit of a queue to get your brevet card stamped at controls, but the people manning them are efficient types so it doesn't take a long time, and you can have a nice cup of tea while you're waiting. There's only 1 manned control in any case, the others are all information controls (where you need to write down the answer to some question or other on the card) according to the route sheet I've been sent.

Fussballclub Skully left his head in the loo?! What are you talking about?!
He left his glasses at the pub on the Dedham ride, I had to go back and get them. Luckily nobody had half inched them.

Thanks Bothwell for actually providing an answer to the question, the timing now makes much more sense.

Hearsay; it might have been his gloves. But he still has all his fingers. So who knows. He will probably be around shortly and explain. Two times lucky anyway.
fWatership down entries are good til Saturday.
