Think this and you can't go wrong.

• #3
totally rad! that's a great example!
-
• #4
^+1 nice and versatile build

I have wanted something like that Davidson for quite a while so I shall follow this build with interest and possibly use it to justify bike number 6
-

Bike number 12, i have run out of room. This has to be my last bike for a little while. I'm justifying it because of it functional nature.....but I guess all bikes are.

had a dig around in my parts bin, maybe this stem......
-
• #8
definately.

totes

• #10
.......these Gussest pedals with power straps and Campagnolo victory chain-set........
-
• #11
on to a winner i feel
-
• #12
thanks spotter, looking forward to getting it on the road. i need some sort of bash guard.....but finding one for 52t maybe tricky.
-

I'm pretty jealous of this recent spate of cx/beater/bruiser zombie builds at the moment. Have no need of one, but that Davidson and dat frame and parts has got me wishing. Look forward to seeing it built.

• #14
get a 54 and grind the teeth off, someone else on the forum did it
-
• #15
if i find a 54 i will be too tempted to use it. i like fast bikes.
-
• #16
you know you want one ed.......

Will soon be getting my long haul trucker out of storage for winter commuting duties, can't quite justify another bike that'll fill a similar role! It's a fantastic bike but doesn't have the radness of that Davidson..
Will treat it to some new tyres for this winter at least. -
• #18
that Davidson is next level. hopefully i can do my frame some justice.
-
• #19
found a couple more pictures of the Davidson. Really great bench mark, i want to head in that direction.
-
• #20
depending on what bars i use, one of these shifters. -
• #21
Just came across these neon pink risers…….only two concerns are: the length, they look very sort, Brake-less cut-down length and could they be rusted from the inside?
-
• #22
Go go go go go!
-
• #23
Yes to everything here... and I love the cut up tyre as a chainstay protector! You are on the a winner here. Bit confused... this gonna have cross tyres or slicks? With risers rusted like that... the "chucking it around" could end messy... that is if this goes off road.
-
• #24
also my concern. may have to re-think the risers........but they are awesome pink!
panaracer pasela tg 32c tyres. -
• #25
Decided to ditch the tatty pink risers. Now on the hunt for some new bars........
Just won this. It will be a pink overload.
I have decided to build a sturdy bike I can take off road, but equally bash around town…..a hybridised pub / CX bike. Something to see me from a hackney wick warehouse at 7am safely to my bed ………… or, off the beaten track, down a muddy country lane.
I have just purchased this 90's Diamant cyclocross frame. This Belgian beauty is winging it way from the Netherlands. Columbus tubing, not exactly sure what type.
I am thinking a re-spray: a neon pink fade into the existing banana yellow. Garish and 90’s.
This is the best I could do with my limited knowledge of paint programs. i know i know, pathetic.
Not sure of the exact build or components. Want to keep it retro-ish. Practical, robust and fast. Controversially maybe north-road bars instead of drops? Road/TT gear ratio, Single large chain ring. 32c tyres (panaracer). 7 speed. Bar end shifter?
As with most of my builds, I want to keep it ratty enough so I use it and not get too precious about it.
Any advice, ideas, thoughts or considerations?
