  • Anyone know what the bars are on the burnside forge that Apollo posted? They're a familiar pattern but I don't recall... 3t?

  • Ah, theyre FSA Wing Pro Compact.

  • Don't think it's been posted in here

Had to set it up for commuting again at the moment but lookin to get the challenge tyres back on and do some proper fixed off road miles soon.

What's that frame? Is it a Pompino? Not pomp forks though?

  • Pompetamine with Kona P2s I think.

    zis.

  • Ah. Cannot go to On One and lust that at the mo as their site is down.

  • ^^^ 1x10 ≠ SS but whatever.

    completely missed that haha

  • ^^ Er yes please.

  • Rad!

  • ^ loving the super-subtle split on the seat stay for the belt.

  • Not quite enough seatpost showing though!

  • Mr. Loin is right. Big triangles are good for shouldering but thats overdoin it a bit.

  • nice lean head tube..

\you saw some mud once on liverpool road?

  • Sure, that's what the mini means, but I was looking at them, and just couldn't call it one way or the other. And people go on about the clearance with mini Vs, which looks OK there.. Anyhow, what does it matter, something has to knock the crud off the tyres - I mean I could see road calipers getting knackered, but so what if the cable going across your Vs gets a bit messy?

It's more of an issue regarding clearance between brake blocks and the rim than anything else, where cantilevers certainly have an advantage.

  • ^ Yeah. Mini-Vs aren't great for muddier races. Can imagine they are awesome in California though :)

When I used mini V's I had clearance issues where the rear tyre was hitting the cable but I did like to use huge tyres. Had to change to canti's when using a 47C.
Have no such problem now as back to brakeless fixed for my off road bike, no horrible gritty/grinding brakes for me....

  • Decided to go with cantilevers in the end. Had to buy a new fork to have enough space for the canti hanger.. which is no big deal, I think I wanted the extra height anyway. Wish I had thought for a second though, got new Pompino forks (for a Pomp frame, only £20 at the mo) but I maybe should have got some nice straight forks, which does give the whole thing a more aggressive look. But I think I would have had trouble finding anything for £20, so they will do for now.
