• No need, it was total rubbish!

    Kidding.

  • I think we (Ludd?) might have just started a Beautiful Thing. The Lfgssssss x yafcf co-social group ride. It was amazing. Though yafcf were f conspicuous in their absence from The Devonshire Arms, a completely 531SL ale house.

Thanks to the YACF who joined us, and showed us a brilliant detour avoiding BRoads from Furneux Pelham (sp?)... excellent, AUK-quality lanes almost entirely to Cambridge.

  • I love the dev. Great pub.

    Glad you all had fun.

  • A great day out in very fine company.
Thanks, all of you, for that.
And thanks also for managing to not run over me when I was having a little lie-down.

blue sky out side Cambridge Station, so yes!

great day had by all, very glad I went along and met you all. Top effort BMX too!

  • ^^^^^^^^^

You waited - bless you. Thanks in particular to my excellent lead out team for getting us back on to the group while they were still in Bethnal Green. Here's hoping my general feebleness means this morning's idiocy can be easily undone.

    What a lovely day.

  • Yessssssss, this was great. Thanks and well done Ludd!

    What a lovely day.

    That's it.
    In a nutshell.

  • Have you been at teh Photoshop?

    Top photos, thobut.

  • Have you been at teh Photoshop?
    Ha!

Nope, straight from my phone, all 4 of them!

  • I know that traffic light, you turned left there onto the A120.

    :)

  • Ha!

Nope, straight from my phone, all 4 of them!

    So where's the first one?
    'Snot LMNH
    'Snot the lunchstop.

    Tired now.
    Expect typos...

  • You reckon?

  • Another great ride today, completely stunning roads and weather. Perfect!
My ride home, however... Epic with a capital rapha, involving glowsticks and electrical tape. Literally got home half an hour ago. It did make it a round century for me today though, when it's all totted up - a first :)

  • the Ronseal of traffic lights

these have to be seen to be believed. last time i was stopped there, Woolworths went from small family business to it's heyday of a presence on every highstreet to it's ultimate demise and then the lights went green

  • It's a .gif right? I'm still watching...

  • yeah it's fast forwarded footage like on nature programs when you fruit rot/flowers grow

  • i still think we should have stopped for a pint at these lights year ago

  • I know that traffic light, you turned left there onto the A120.

    :)

Nope, we went straight over. It's a bit of road also used on a TNRC favourite route from Roydon.

Have to say whoever went out with inadequate lights yesterday will surely be soon investing in exposure/hope/dynamo gear soon, funds allowing. I note HoKe and Gizmond have both offered here Hope Vision1s for pretty great prices lately, so get some ffing lights Alfie/gm/ladym!

  • btw please would one of you Jurek/michael from round Cambridge way(?) be so kind as to show us on a map, or just an idea of the route/ villages we went through on the Furneaux - Cambridge bit. Some really excellent lanes I'd like to revisit soon. Thanks!

  • Sorry, Sold mine to Fox last week! =(

  • Thanks everyone for making yesterday work so well. I think Jurek's brief sunset foray into recumbentism was probably the only mishap in a glorious day out, unless you include the Brewery Tap landlady's attempt to fumigate us.

Top company, of course, and it was good to put a few more forum names to faces.

A warning to future ride organisers: the Brewery Tap is closing down - at least, they're running down their stocks and the current staff won't be there next year. But there are plenty of other places on this delightful route to while away a couple of hours at lunchtime (including the traffic lights at the A120) so there's really no excuse for wasting any daylight by arriving at Cambridge too early/

Special thanks to the various people who helped with waymarking, route adjustments, moral support and so on: Skully, Tomsk, Mike, Jurek and Andrij are the names that spring to mind - apologies to anyone I've overlooked.

  • Thanks for being such a benevolent leader Ludd. Such a good atmosphere on this ride, yacf and lfgss worked well together!

  • Sorry, Sold mine to Fox last week! =(

    Bargain!
