Amazing what a phone can do whilst on the move...

How long did it take you guys? I'm doing the route tomorrow (in fact going on to Ely) but will be alone. The weather is looking particularly grizzly and I'm coming from the Isle of Wight but taking the train for the first leg. Most concerned with negotiating Waterloo to Tottenham/Lea Valley way that anything else...

Hi Gregory,
According to my GPS we were moving for 4.5 hours - but it was a very gentle pace. You are probably right, the bit from Waterloo to LV will be the worst part - but I still haven't worked out a nice way to get to LV from anywhere so I wouldn't worry about it! :)
Enjoy the ride... -

Cheers, hopefully the wind and rain will be on my back

Only nice way to LV is by canal and river tow path. Slow and not nice in this weather though...

sounds/looks like a great day, wish I could have made it, will definitely be giving that alt route from the Pelhams a go next time too.

You should, it's a gorgeous stretch of road. Certain members of the group enjoyed it so much they rode back and did it again while waiting for the tail enders to catch up.

I'm certainly the member who did.
I'd tell you where it is or post a googlemap link, but I'm pretty damn confident that you'll know it when you ride it.
It is the bit of road which makes you grin, an' wanna to do it again ;-) -

Let's face it, Jurek, you probably just got lost on the way to the train station and kept riding. :)

I think you're confusing me with another person on that ride.
Guray's the one who (allegedly) got lost and kept riding....... -

In Jurek's absence (in Majorca, no less...) here is Peter's track of our route:

I can't seem to open this - anyone else able to / got it garminated separately? It was such a good route.

This is the whole route we took KT, if that helps...?

Perfect - thank you!

How are people placed for a re-run of this ride?
-
• #145
Very well placed, I am.
I think. -

OK, I'll have a look at the Ludd family calendar tonight. I wouldn't want to fix this up on the weekend in November when the aged Ps are coming to stay.
