BN hit me up when you know.
Will do.

I'll need to check the condition. For now though, there's either this with 160mm rotor...
Or this with 180mm.
I'll stop spamming your thread now.

Re the carbon forks: I thought carboncycles had tons of different sizes. I'm sure you could find a 26" fork which is the effective size as the standard fork.
-
• #32
I might go back the same route - fat tyres, but this time with a brake.
-
• #33
Why didn't you like them?
They absorbed less trail buzz than my old steel fork, and I never really felt comfortable riding them. Irrational I know, and plenty of people get on with them so probably just me. For hydros just buy a Shimano Deore or an SLX if you wanna spend more money. No other brand worth buying IMO.

Jack aren't you a poor struggling photographer now?
jealous of this build, gonna be great

I'm funding this via the sale of my low-pro to tm. Also I might sell the monark

subd
will u no haz barpinz?
-
• #37
just realised its a leader! thought the 'bruiser' part of the thread title meant you went down the Milwaukee route
-
• #38
When I can do wheelies I'll start worrying about bar spinz. I can always get one of those headsets that let's you route the cable through it. I have almost bought a milwaukee before but at £50 its hard to find a better frame than this, it also takes up too 55c which is rad.

Slight change of plan on the rim front, I got a good deal on these Rodi XC rims which should be a bit of a better choice as they're wider than the aerowarriors.
I've also got some Salt BMX cranks on the way too.

• #40
Salt dissolves in water, is this just going to be a dry weather bike?

I've almost got everything now. Few changes though, accidentally ordered the alu forks but as some doubts have been cast over the carbon ones that might not be a bad thing. CRC also sent me the wrong bars so i'm waiting for them to get back to me. oh and i'm using a different thomson stem.

Should be a nice build spotter. What disc brake did you go for in the end? I cant quite make it out.
-
• #44
its a Shimano XTR, i bought off 5awyer today. I was just about to message you about that sorry.
-
• #45
No worries, XTR is a real nice brake & should look good on there.
-
• #46
Where do you keep getting these cheap leaders?
-
• #47
^ sponsored innit.
Fixed-semi-pro.
-
• #48
Nice to meet you, be good to see it built up.
-
• #49
Are you running it fixed gear? If so, keep an eye on the single bolt holding on that chainring as the forward and backwards rotational movement can work it loose. If this happens then get a spline drive sprocket.
Looks like it'll be ace

^good point, now i'd rather run splined but i had that chainring so i thought i may as well. However the cranks i've bought have got to go back so i may as well get splined, so can you recommend some that wont brake the bank also I need to be running something in the region of 44t up front as I can't get smaller than a 15 cog on the back, and i don't want to be too spinny
