Turns out being dressed like a cyclist and soaking wet wasn't enough to gain entry. No ID with me, told to jog on. >>>

Thank you for the 5 minutes of fucking awesomeness that my obnoxious dancing maaay have ignited some beef! Best 5 minutes of my WHOLE LIFE THOUGH. People will confirm the look of sheer joy on my face I'm sure.

Fucking disappointing it was to turn up to find out there are no turntables in the club. At least they had a mixer and some speakers. I would give it 3 out of 10. Free beer lasted me for about 2 minutes.

That was a strange night.
Loved hanging out at LMNH before the club.
But the club... arriving was a big WTF?!
Basically turned up to be told:
1) There were no decks
2) The venue was double-booked
3) The person who made the booking and worked for the venue was no longer with the companyOf course, every DJ had brought vinyl or was expected to do so. It so happened that because Aram had dropped I figured I should bring along my old DJ MP3 player thing. The effect of that was that we actually had music but that unless someone turned up with CDs I was now going to be DJing all night.
The other person who booked the venue got sent away.
And then when things started it was plainly visible that the security were just letting anyone downstairs even though I'd told them "Those that ask for the Bicycle Film Festival party only - they'll be easy to spot, they will look like cyclists and likely be dripping wet.".
So we actually had a dancefloor and room at least 50% Shoreditch punters and 50% cyclists.
The place got rammed really fast and the limited music on the MP3 player didn't allow me to stick with any genre for long so I found myself doing mini 20 minute sets of one style before hopping to another genre altogether.
There was a lost wallet (handed in at the bar upstairs at the end), a fight on the dancefloor (I didn't see this but a girl came up begging for less rock as it had turned ugly - I was in the middle of a Rage Against the Machine moment).
Surprisingly, parts of it were actually quite fun.
The biggest problem with me DJing for 4 hours (aside from what I played) was that I got to speak to virtually no-one.
So I reckon we should set this straight and throw a Christmas party. I won't be able to sort a drinks sponsor and free beers, but all of the people who turned up with records should get to do their slots at a far friendlier and exclusive venue. Exclusive as in, "all ours"... not "up-market".
Last night was fun, but served mostly to whet my appetite for a proper party for us.
Also, I'm really not sure that getting space in Hoxton/Shoreditch is a good idea. Last year there were problems, but only minor ones. This year it was much worse. We definitely need to find a better venue for parties outside of the very dodgy Shoreditch night club scene (I think the security contributed to the dodginess far more than they need have - I used to have really friendly security on the clubs I ran).
Any suggestions on where we can have a Christmas bash... last Nov, early Dec?

What a cow. RATM was awesome, Laner and I started a mosh pit which lasted literally all of 0.005 seconds before a bouncer made us stop.

Wow, really? Shit got pretty hectic at the London Open after-party and none of the bouncers bothered us... Shame about the decks, didn't seem to spoil your fun any tho'... :)
^I'm already in for that howrad!
