In bristol too.
I always found places like the St Michaels hill (with the lights at the bottom and zero view of the fast traffic crossing your path) too sketchy to be fun when brakeless. That's probably the only place it was a problem but I was riding it 4 times a days.
CSB.
i agree, although bristol is incredibly hilly this is probably the only junction i avoid if brakeless. (annoying if im going to one of the lecture halls/seminar rooms on st michaels hill haha)
also JB, 72gi too hard brakeless? lol dyel

Any gum walls as good as hardshells, puncture protection wise?
Paselas are quite tough, from what I've gathered.
-
• #862
Paselas now have new improved puncture protection, apparently. And I had knackered gumwalls on my Holdsworth and only ever had one puncture. Buy them.

• #863
What about for sick skidz?
-
• #864
I have some Paselas (28c) and the only puncture I got in a year was a snakebite from hitting a massive pothole or something. I'm not sure how long they'd last skidding tho.

I skateboarded down that hill when I was 11. Brand new skateboard fell of halfway and then the board got run over... Sad times..

• #866
Well aren't you the lunatic. Fuck that though. I did the same, on a hill that was of a similar gradient. Suffice to say I haven't done it since. I have the scars to prove it too!

If you haven't decided on tires yet I have some reference material for you:
-
• #868
Yeah I know! I have to decide if I really like the gumwall look enough before I buy £40+ tires that I will probably kill in one ride.
-
• #869
They do look good, not sure if they'll look great with my paint though. Do need some pedals though. Probably go for GR9z, MKS double straps and cages of some sort, MKS would make sense, I guess.
-
• #870
There's an NJS bike split with Kashimax doubles for proper cheap, won't match your saddle±tape but maybe worth a look. I want then but I don't have anything to put them on...
-
• #871
Shinkuu Kiss, how do you find those tryres? Puncture resistant or do you not ride them much?
-
• #872
I just fitted them today, actually I haven't even put the rear wheel back on. B0N0R said he had one on the front for a while with no problems, there was some talk in the CP chat thread the other day.
-
• #873
The straps are 40, but they're that nasty cream colour that goes filthy, but I kinda love them at the same time. Pedals can >>>> though.
-
• #874
Shinkuu this is your bike in a few years. looks better IMO

I'm not going to neg you I'm just going to push you under a bus next time I see you.
