Whats a wall shelf for?

Whats a wall shelf for?
Its main function was to allow me to insulate the brick section of the walls.
As you can see in this photo, the wooden walls have open sections in which I could fit fit my insulation.
To be able to fit any on the brick wall, I had to attach some vertical battens and then put the insulation between them. Not very attractive, so I boarded over it and added the wooden shelf. It leaves a gap between the upper wall and benches, where I can store even more stuff.

:0)I am never ever going to do that :-)

It leaves a gap between the upper wall and benches, where stuff can neatly roll off and get stuck

Spatr pls, benches will have backboards*.
*which will probably get in the way of me finding anything that's behind them >:(
-
• #386
See through backboards. You may not be able to get to it but at least you'll kow what you've lost.

I will soon be the owner of a small shed (which pleasingly comes with a house for storing my wife).
Sadly my shed-to-be is much smaller than this palace, but I am inspired! I'm thinking bikes on one side (love the sliding rings on a scaffolding pole idea), storage and tool board on the other and a folding workbench I can use outside. I know that's just a fair-weather shed, but it will have to do for this year at least.

Nice one. I hope you get it up & running in a fraction of the time this place took*.
*is still taking >:(

Great stuff BN, just read the thread from start...roll on May when I move into my own home and get to build a shed!

^ you also repped me at the exact time to match the date, today: 14:14 on the 1/4/14.
Rep for being symmetrical.

symmetrical.
Not much symmetry to be found in this thread :-)

I love sheds - nice build man

This is a pleasing shed, but why didn't you paint the exterior dark green? I long for a dark green shed.

why didn't you paint the exterior dark green?
That would've been nice. Unfortunately the last person in Norfolk to paint their shed green was accused of witchcraft.
I'm just not taking that chance :-/
