Do it! You won't regret it (unless you wimp out).
I did LEL'09 and PBP'11 on fixed with a BMI >25 (PBP closer to 30).
Not doing LEL this year but hopefully I'll be at one of the controls to help out with a smile, a chain whip and a big can of HTFU.

Thats a good idea - I was thinking of suggesting that we entered one of the more local (as in starting within 60miles of London) Audax's as both training and to meet others attempting the LEL...
How about - Kent Invicta 100km Sunday 17th March 2013 (http://www.aukweb.net/events/detail/13-190/) (we would of course need to ride to the start and back as its in March and I'd expect to be back into 300's by then).
Or one of the several 'perms' that start down in Kent at a closer date?

I'm riding as AC Hackney though - the four man strong audax club that I am in.

It's full

Full. Good. In a way. Now I don't have to agonise over this today. Too late.
-
• #115
That's crazy. There's going to be a lot of struggling Mamils on it I expect rather than the bearded audaxers there usually are.

loads will pull out in the coming months... places will come back up again...

When the fresh meat starts realising that 400-600-1200k is a little bit trickier than their 140k club runs :)
Good luck all, ya mentals.

Heathen.
I got half a year to decide on whether I should do it on my new bike or do it fixed.

I'd love to do this. But I have my first marathon in March, then there's an off-road triathlon I'd like to try in June. Pick your battles and all that. I'm spread pretty thin as it is. Best of luck though. You're all mad/stupid/wonderful.

Having said all that, if there are long-distance training rides going on, I'd love to join in.
