I'm wondering about a fade pain job, such as this:

Sick fadez bro is the way to go. I'm saying metallic grey to blue, 50/50...
Have you treated the saddle? It's meant to soften them up to start with isn't it?

I've given it two goings over with neatsfoot oil, but it mostly sat on the surface not being absorbed. I've taken a quater turn off the nose tension to help soften it up too. I'll try doing a few more coats and leaving it for longer periods, but on the face of it the saddle feels like a plank of wood.

Ive been thinking of fade for my beater when i get it sprayed. but AFAIK everywhere that would do it is verrrryyyy expensive :(

fade is easy to do. Get a rattle can of your colour choice. spray thick in some places and then lightly in others and voila fade!!

If you want an affordable professonal job, speak to Stu F. He got a custom 2 tone spray job from a car painting place in essex (i think) for £60 including some filling work! Looks boss hog gangsta.

Have just PM'd you the number for Simon, the paint sprayer I used. Sorry it took so long - had it on my desk, had just forgotten about it until TM reminded me.
The frame I had done was in a real state so most of the work for Simon was filling up the rust pits after I had sanded off all the paint with emery ribbon. He might be able to spray right over the top of the existing blue paint after giving it a key cos it looks like a good finish, but he might advise getting it blasted with a fine grit - you'd have to discuss it with him obviously. (Only reason I didn't get it blasted was that the guy I know as on holiday and I didn't want to wait til he got back, so sanded it myself). So the price might be slightly less than £60

I will be getting a nice big wine box too, my local wine dealers said they give them away so thats perfect. I just need to engineer a nice way of attaching it. I will also build a light mount.
Which shop is this? I'm after a box like this to use in combo with my rack. Could you pick up an extra one?
-

Its in wales sorry, however you can buy them for about £12 on ebay
-
• #97
ah right, i'll ask around my local shops

Whilst i'm waiting for VeloDrama to get back to me about the soma rack I've been thinking about lighting options too, as it has an extra eyelet for a front light.
I could use a light i've already got, but on the other hand something like this might be a bit more in keeping
