  • Why not get another DA from NJS export in good condition for half the price?

  • How good is good condition though? I'm shit at judging these things.

  • Drops?

They look great with the Wound-Ups!

Most look to be good or great condition, I've got a 51t from them that I've been using for about a year and it's still got plenty of life left in it, they've also got pretty much every size you could ever want. Dodging customs isn't too hard either, just let them know what you want your package declared as.

What did you ask them just out of interest?

Apolz for the thread derail by the way, TM. I'll be done soon. :)

  • I didn't but if you get it to be declared as value $20 and gift you won't get charged but that's illegal and means if the package were to get lost it would only be insured up to that value.

    Sorry from me too TM.

  • I'd rather the lattice over a DA.

    Cleaning?! eh?

I got mine off ok123 on here barely used, after indra told him that he thought it was shit I think.... Would definitely pay full price though having seen one IRL, really like it. Not many people have them either so...

I think F5 mark down on shipping and put as gift so it should reach you without being stung by customs.

Dan, I've collected most of the parts for the red Donohue, just waiting on forks to arrive and will be building it up! Also, in two minds as to whether to repaint it or now... Deep blue with sparkles is tempting, might get the track done the same colour, get white decals for both...

  • I didn't just tell him it was shit and he replaced it lol

He opened it over a kebab and passed it around, I said it felt flexy in the hand as did a few others then I think he rode it and decided it was flexy or something and sold it or maybe it was surplus as he'd just got a 44rn, I know that's why Kamal ditched his.

  • And fwiw this is the only build I think the lattice looks good on and of you don't destroy it with your mad skidz I have faith in it.

  • fair enough, maybe I'm getting old, but I certainly can't detect any "flex"...

Could do with hippy or tester here to tell us the reality of being able to detect such flex whilst riding...

Will continue attempting to destroy it, and will give a full account of it in a couple of months pending destruction/survival. So far so good though.

  • I don't like the sound of "it felt flexy in the hand". I couldn't imagine flexing any chainring with my own bare hands. TM, tell me this is not true!

Yeah, cleaning... You know. When you lock your bike up outside and it just so happens to rain. Cleaning!

I really liked the OG. I think it'll build really well. You can't beat the thrill of a respray though!

Yeah, cleaning... You know. When you lock your bike up outside and it just so happens to rain. Cleaning!

Well, heeding these comments, I tried to flex it in my hands, and true, there was a tiny bit of flex, i've honestly not tried flexing another chainring to compare... I'm not sure how much it flexing slightly in your hands affects it's performance though, as it will never encounter such forces in it's role as a chainring?! Lateral compliancy, vertical stiffness or some bollocks? who knows, but as I said, rides great, smooth and quiet. no complaints.

  • Lateral compliance. Vertical stiffness. File with inverse shim. :)

    Cheers, TM and Indra.

It's probably fine but my main worry wasn't snapping, just going egg shaped faster than usual.

I'm not sure either, it just felt a lot more flexy compared to DA, rotor or aaRN but I've never ridden the Lattice so can't really comment on that, you have and you think it's fine so I'll take that as truth.

  • Just to say while I may have been swayed slightly by peer pressure, the lattice never felt flexy when I was riding, but having just spent a ton on a 44rn it had to go to fund other things.
Although I personally prfer the 44rn, the lattice looks far better on your build than it did mine

  • Seriously? of all the thing to worry about, it's the fucking chainring.

  • not much to worry about on a brakeless fixed Ed, so why not pay more attention to the moving parts?

  • This is a forum about bikes, ed. If you're not worrying about every single component then you're doing it wrong.

  • TM I hope you're keeping the carbon forks as well, I'd to have those on the bike when you eventually sell it to me and you can keep the Wound-ups.

  • Wound-up road or track ?

  • Seriously? of all the thing to worry about, it's the fucking chainring.

Pretty sure I've seen you ramble on about handle bar bags for a fair while... Seriously? It's a fucking bag.

Tommmmmmmm how many tiemz, no for sellz!

    Wound-up road or track ?

Road for the moment Gaston, if I come accross a pair of track that I can afford will by them to replace...

On the plus side, leaves room for a front mudguard, hallelujah no more wet feet!

  • Shit, it's now fully sensible.

  • As sensible as a brakeless all weather commuter can be...
