Well this was really fked up, as I really liked the 7410 headset and got it very cheap.. But if there is 7400 headset available I'll use that one.

Can I have the 7410 headset please for my Panasonic?
-
• #29
^ Needs it. Although I wants it too!

I'd say keep the Flite on it, lately I've gone off my Concor slightly, and liking the look of Flites.
Also, +1 on the GR-9 pedals. They're really good. -

Might wanna speak to scorch, he had a simillar problem with his Koga and I think he faced his headtube on both side. Could be wrong but no harm asking :)
Jup, it will never fit. Previous owner had cut the steere too much.
The headset "system" of this 7410 headset works different. It's 2 cups pressed into the frame. While the other system is a cup beneath and a cup sliding over the topplate (difficult to explain this shit haha). The 7400 headset works like the "other system".

Thanks guys, facing the headtube was the Idea yes, going to my work now to see if my boss found any other fork.
Dura Ace 7410 also uses one of the 2 nuts to thread on the steerer doesn't it?Got my crank and stem/bars btw. Will make a picture after polishing!

you'll need two of each.....
-
• #36
surely that will depend on how far you want to go up the bar....

true :P

Man of Tokyo Fixed said it was enough, and I'll just see how far I get. I don't want to tape them all up.

Interested to see how you get on with the Shellac... (is it easy to do, nice to the touch, and aesthetically pleasing...?)
I'm seriously considering shellac for my L'Eroica whip, but I'm a bit wary of the rivendell-retro-bollox connotations the next thing you know it'll be cork end-plugs a berthoud saddle and saving up for a rene hearse frameset.Still not heard back from Ron Cooper, I'll call him next week and see what's up.

Great work on the harlequin job, looks ace.

Got it build up just for going to school this week.
I'm a bit of a pussy cause I think the nitto stem is too deep and the bars are too narrow, so I got them up for sale. Some road bars and a normal stem are going on for when I go out cycling, but for going to school, these risers will stay.
lots of changes to go, but I like it as it is right now.

Nice! Except the front wheel too slave for me. But it does look ace now you've stripped it.
-
• #45
I love the frontwheel. Rearwheel will be a 40cm high kinlin rim too a DA7600 hub, with a DA cog and lockring (now Miche).
It also screams for some colour as it will get boring like this. So something like a coloured Concor seat with matching bartape/grips will do I guess.

^+1 to coloured concor and grips...
also, maybe a nitto Pearl stem?
looks ace stripped btw, good job

Looks awesome as it is.
I'd maybe put the Flite back on it. Reckon that would look great with the raw frame.
Those cranks are lovely too. -
• #48
Agreed with all the above, looks great now.
-
• #49
Thanks Guys! Flite is on my Roadbike now, as I like the more 'fatter' Turbo for going to school. Nitto Pearl is a good call, but I also like this Pro Chrome stem, so that is for the future.
New rearwheel is first on the list now!

I know.. campag did the same thing
luckily for me the steerer on the Rourke was long enough to accomodate a Chorus headset (same system as the DA one above)
