They almost certainly led her on to make sure they had strength in depth. I do feel for her, because she is clearly a terrific athlete. But I can't believe that they excluded her just because they didn't like her.
Which is why I'd like to hear a reply from BC about her claims.

It's the Brits - this is anti-NI prejudice at its most blatant.
She was after one of these?

But she knew that 4 into 3 doesn't go, so someone was for the drop. I think it's very reasonable that she feels shit about it, but I do wonder how different things might seem if she had thought to fire off the girls a congratulatory text or stayed track side to support them raher than legging it and hating them more and more the longer she waits for an apology or a consolatory message.
Passive aggression 101.

Norn Iron - you'll like our passive aggression more than our active aggression. We tend to get carried away.

speaking rationally, it seems that the calculation was that any illness jo roswell had was mild enough that it would be a greater risk to change the line up than to have jo ride.
speaking as a norn irishman, however, it is clearly another example of the mentality of imperialist brits who are happy to exploit the labours of our wee country (eg Titanic, DeLorean, Rory McElroy) when it is in their nefarious interests to do so, only to give us nothing but the blame when it is time to pay out.

This. She was 4th in the pecking order, that pecking order was long established. She obviously had a chance of racing but only within certain circumstances, which is what she is claiming because of the alledged sickness of one of the other members. She should have also gone into the games knowing there was a chance she wouldn't ride at all.
The interview comes across as a fit of pique because someone was vomiting and she wasn't drafted in as a substitute. To walk out the velodrome, pack her bags and go home without speaking to anyone, and then go public with your greivances seems a pretty extreme reaction.

Sour Grapes - the Reason we are so good in the drome is that their is no room for sentiment, just clinical analysis and planning.
Its the nature of sport at the top, for every success there are those who miss out, thats part and parcel of the game.
I think its pretty bad form on her part, you dont see any of the rowers who missed out on seats in winning boats moaning, and they are in near identical situations whereby the team is chopped and changed until the winning formula is hit upon

It's called "Team GB"
It they had wanted to include those from the Six Counties in it it would have been called "Team GB and NI".
Get over it.

I am sure that the Irish or Australian squads would welcome any misplaced people from the Six Counties.
