Contador didn't exactly force Froome off the road.
you dare question the sanctity of froome?!
unbeliever, stone lynchy!!!

This is a classic race. Every stage is animated. Its a shame the time gaps aren't slightly smaller. Still three promising stages to come.

Quit complaining skeletor, if you thought he was going to fast then sit up and let your bitch ass get dropped. So lame all the 'racing should only be uphill' brigade
-

Let me get this right, Froome is out of order for complaining about Contador going fast downhill but he, Contador, is fine to complain about Quintana riding hard after his error meant he crashed?
No double standards here, no sir.

^this. The more I listen to Dopeador, the less I like him.

They were both wrong. Quintana had every right to take time on Ten Dam. I wondered if Contador had an agreement with Movistar though. He'll be paying half the peloton by the end of this race.

I know. But only Froome is getting any criticism here.
I doubt Contador had an agreement with Movistar, him and Valverde do not get along.

What? You know Froome was drafting Contador, not vice versa?
I thought there was one bit of sharp practice, when Kreuziger pushed Froome out of line in a corner giving Contador a gap. Bike racing though, innit?

Nice little stage today, a bit of excitement for once.
What would the 1980's bike gods like Kelly and Hinault have made of Froome's whinge?
Pity about the feed ITV were getting, alas the 'incident' happened when the footage had cut away.
I kept thinking about the guy that went over the edge in 87 or 88 and down a ravine.

I'm seeing Froome's comments as a psychological slapdown to Contador - you're desperate, you're trying everything, but look - you're still achieving nothing. Now shoo, you insignificant little mosquito.

I don't think it's the speed per se as line etc one is taking. it's a race one goes as fast as one dares. Sir brad knows this all too well.

Really looking forward till tomorrow, though I expect Froome will smash the competition even further. Perhaps it's not particularly steep for an alleged mountain time trial, but from what I can gather, it's quite technical.
Presuming for the sake of argument that we're looking at winning time at around 55 minutes, we could see one or two riders struggle to finish within the time limit. It certainly won't be a straight forward walkover for those riders that ideally just wanna save themselves for Thursday. Can't wait!

Yep, that bloke in the yellow shirt with the camera saw it all officer.

When was the last time the tour was as exciting as this? Even the supposedly boring stages have been excellent. Next year will have to be some race to be more exciting than this one.
[Yes, I know, Tour de France 2014 thread that way >>>>>>]

If cycling had trash talks that would be soooo awesome!!!

Where did Contador say anything about Quintana? The thumbs up?
Froome's having a cry because he realised that he might still lose the Tour because people are prepared to take risks to take it from him. Shock horror. dealwithit.gif

Surely you have a right to go as fast as you can without falling off, but if the guy in front of you falls off there is not aalways something you can do? Surely, despite going the same speed, Contador was going too fast and Froome was going a safe speed?
If Froome was so concerned with Contador's riding he wouldn't have been in a position to go down with him. Simples.

Arguably the hardest / most decisive three stages are still to come. Got the feeling Froome will end up isolated at least once more and could struggle. Doing a ride like first Sunday will be far harder in the last week.

Hopefully the podium place getters don't just try to 'hang on' and actually take it to Froome. Contador certainly will but if no one else has a stab it might be for nothing.
An old apprentice. Yes.
