Basically they can make exceptions from the time limit for whatever reason; hard as fuck ought to be one of them.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that I think Andy Schleck is looking in very good shape and will surprise the naysayers in this race.

And anyone who starts the Tour is worthy of respect as a cyclist.

Magnus reckons he's on the comeback and will be firing for the Vuelta but not quite right for the Tour. I'm expecting nothing from him so he'll probably win a stage and beat Cadel now..

Another point on Schleck; he actually rode on for two days after fracturing his pelvis at 2012 Dauphine. Don't imagine many of those now hero worshipping Thomas have treated Schleck with anything but derision since.

1 day and then abandoned. If he was British I'm sure he'd be 'nails' but he's not so fuck him.
