  • Great bike! I'm also thinking about getting a Seta. Can you recommand it? I'm a pretty tall rider 196 cm (6' 5") with a weight of 92 kg (202lb). My current frame is a Dodici Veloce that is not stiff enough. It bends as soon as I start to sprint.

The Seta--- looking at the Dolan page--- is too small. Their largest listed frame is 58 with a 58cm top-tube. With average morphology its too small. With longer torso its way too small.. Its even too small with longer legs--- looking at the angles and the constraint of a max. 140mm stem.
Tall riders, contrary to the general rules thrown out for average sized, need, in general, to select taller track than road frames. Today's road position places hands often on the hoods. This position is less reach and less deep than in the drops--- this is also why road bars have been increasingly more shallow and shorter reach (e.g. Deda).

25 years ago it was impossible to get a suitable frame in an appropriate size. TSX and 531 were just too flexible. Large riders had, despite their mechanical advantage, a handicap. Most road cyclists seemed to be short if not "mountain fleas". Its the development of new stiffer frames that, I see, has contributed most to changing things.

The Dodici Veloce is a frame in the old school tradition. Fine for small riders but ill-suited by its use of Zona tubes to larger sizes.

  • ^Indra you've posted that in at least three threads now, just buy the damn thing already and shut up ;p

  • Trying to spread the word :)
It's too small for me though :(

  • Someone definitely needs to buy one and slave it up

  • Well I'll be trying to slave a Seta so hopefully someone can build one of those in parallel.

i'm 6.3ft and riding the seta with a 120mm stem and a bullhorn, seatpost with setback, so bigger riders should getting in serious trouble

  • Looks sick with the disc and hed combo.

  • Also a good source for spare chain links...

    *OSCC

  • track slack innit

  • There's track slack and there's fucking neglect

*Wouldn't have been allowed in my days.

  • Well there's no need for a tight chain on the track, is there?

  • Don't know what the rules are now, but when I was track racing you were only allowed 1-1.5 cm slack.

  • This is a sick build!

  • Sick is a good thing these days, isn't it?

    Yes Dad.

  • Thank you son.

  • There is a serious problem with these tyres.

If someone (such as the photographer) is standing to the right of the rider, the tyres spell "Force Attack". Utter nonsense.

The only solution I can see is to only ever ride this bike passing onlookers from right to left, so they spell "Attack Force" - which is fucking awesome.

  • If you are looking straight fork, how about Enve 2.0 with 40mm rake? That's the "toughest" one of the Enve road forks. Also it is light.

there's more a serious problem with your knowledge!
but as i'm friendly you can have a look here: http://www.conti-online.com/generator/www/de/en/continental/bicycle/themes/race/racetyres/gp_attack_force/gp_attackforce_en.html

@lrm: enve are bit out of my price range

  • they go for only 60 quid more than a new alpina on ebay, I just got myself a 40mm raked one

  • Yep, those coud be find on eBay at very reasonable price. Just missed one yesterday.. As the track fork (Enve) is very expensive, I think that I will also get on with 40mm rake.
