^ but the cogs are £15. Bolt on would be piss easy for them to make as they already have fro disc hubs the could use
Fair point. I mainly want the splined version so I can use up all the singlespeed cogs that I've collected.

Just because you and threads dont get on
Don't bolts have threads anymore?

IIRC Halo recommend you don't use normal single speed cogs, as they're too thin and they'll bite into the splines and damage them. Their cogs are something like 4mm thick at the bottom

I do have some of the thinner ones. My singlespeed has the Hope ti freehub though, so I use these nice wide based Andel ones to prevent damage.
They were about £12 - £13 last time I got one. Seem to have gone up to £17 now!
I thought singlespeeding was meant to be cheap?

Some new Surly colours posted up on their facebook page.
I wish they had done the Cross Check in the same gray-green they do for the Steamroller
First world problems.

Bit surprised to find that the Specialized Secteur now come disc equipped as well as calipers;
There's even a Roubaix version too;
Also surprised to see an S-Works version of the Allez too;

Top 2 photographs look a bit..... odd. Is this the 2013 "make the bike look gigantic" angle?

I knew Thomson were moving into producing handlebars this year. Didn't know they were doing drops too.
As much as I like their seatposts & stems, I don't think I'll bother. They apparently aren't planning on making them in-house until 2015.

i like. is nice.

^ Head angle looks quite steep. I'm guessing it's more XC racer orientated?

Ooh! Ti version too.

The Grandfondo 105 (£1400) with enough clearance for my favourite 32c tyres definitely tick the box (BMC claim max clearance is 34c).
Saracen released their "commuter" bicycle too, full Tiagra for less than £1200.

A commuter bicycle that has no brazeons for mudguards, let alone a rack?

There is.

£349
:-o

I was expecting that kinda price TBH.
Although quite why anyone would buy one before they proved themselves reliable is beyond me.
I see quite a few bikes built up with this basic one. Which is supposed to be the most basic functionally, but weather resiliant one.

I'm only just sold on the idea of pneumatic tyres.
As these seatposts perform a pretty basic function, my main criteria would be user serviceability*

The high end jobbies from Rockshoxs etc. arent an awful lot more basic in design than a air sprung sus fork. So you have all the usual seal issues etc.
The one I posted has more in common with a office chair. In fact more basic.
I'm sure the techy ones work better. But frankly I dont care. I just want it simple.
Gravity dropper do a 350mm, 27.2 post. Which has 3 positions, up, 1" down, or 4" down. Which is as perfect for me as if I specc'd it myself.
