Whats going on with the seatpost?
Looks like its split down the middle......or is it just my aging eyes?

Two separate pieces and a hinged join at the top (or something) to absorb road chatter to a huge degree. I think the two pieces move independently to adjust saddle angle.

Why are manufacturers continually telling us how uncomfortable bikes used to be?
I know the obvious answer. I suppose I should have asked why people think their old bikes aren't comfortable enough.

^^^ JJ, put your spare reddies into the Gios. It's much nicer.

Actually hate this bike.
Everytime it see it I just think that it's lazy. Why not have a 1 1/8 head tube? Why not pay some boutique carbon outfit to make a stylish fork that seamlessly ties together old and new. Why not have a light, good looking stem with some pantographing(?), etc, etc, etc...?

You are absolutely right. But maybe, just maybe, I can do both.
Would anyone like to adopt a child?

Heh! I'm no expert on what a Colnago Master "should" look like, and to be fair it is a lovely paint job. And there's always a touch of n+1 when it comes to classic looking bikes. I'll keep my Ron Cooper for life but every time I see a nice Merckx or Moser it's always, hmmm...

Totally. Its just an old frame with a modern groupset. 5 mins on Ebay would be enough to get the parts to do the same.

They have made a right pig's ear of that. You just need to know which classic bars go with which modern shifters. ;-)

About 450g according to singletrack. Fox looks nice, but they all just seem like extra maintenance to me. Maybe if I got back into the type of riding where dropper posts had an advantage.
Can't see that happening though.

I find myself wishin I had one on the 29er, and dont even do mad riding on that anymore (many painful offs, had to admitt defeat).
Might be down to riding such small frames I guess.
Cant decide wether the fat bike wants one.

Plenty of time to decide ;-)
Besides, it's not the most complicated thing to install later if you think it's required. Or are you deciding whether to have cable mounts attached to the frame for the remote lever?
I'm a bit of a canyon fanboy. New TT rig and new top-end road bike available with discs by the look of it
