some update photos. love the mavic front end although i fear the drop on the pusuit will be a drop too far. using a stand in seatpost on which sits the laser in NOS condition. working on the black/dark grey with yellow highlights just hoping it doesnt end up being too much and is subtle enough to make it look ace :)
wheel wont get built until next week now and i forgot about taking a photo but you all know what wheels look like.
Thinking stealth black harlequin cloth tape for the bars.. 2 colours may look a bit OTT.
forgot about tyres, need to get on it.
http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8033/7945620002_1253d86c1c_b.jpglove the stem with mavic laser etching (thanks Jogger. not sure i ever did thank you)

seat post is a stand in as i mentioned and i am hoping it is a little high right now! drop is rather epic as it stands.

once i have finished getting the crankset and seatpost polished i'll get more photos before installing...

I get a warm fuzzy feeling every time I see that frame, it's just sooo beautiful.
Liking the Mavic, although will reserve judgment on drop till we see it properly set up.
That saddle is looking very pleased with itself up there and I have to agree, looks well smart!
This is a project I have kept tags on since the start and really looking forward to seeing it done. :D

I think if you want to run those bars you may need an ergo stem.... Or a few years of yoga. If it's just an bike to pose about on or take on short rides though it won't matter too much, what are your intentions?
-
• #107
haz ergo stem in waiting... will wait and see. after some cinelli LA84's but just being patient for a reasonably priced pair. was slighlty miffed when one of our own ignored my dibs and PM on a pair but its all good.
have a feeling this will tend to be a sunday short ride number.. i get a bit precious over nice/new things so lets see. getting so much use outta the mash now as its got a few scrapes and bits i've lost the TLC for it and i much prefer it this way. too precious is too much hard work but then it is very indulgent!

I know the feeling. Bikes are made to be ridden though and I ride mine as hard as I can. These days I never worry about scratches and chips (heaven forbid a ding though) as I know it's inevitable.
This will make a nice "Sunnyday" ride though, pretty much what my Panasonic will be with the new wheels.

Heh, feel much the same about my MASH, actually looking forward to it getting a bit ratty!
Could never be like that over the old Omnium... it was just too pretty, and someone had put time and money into making it personal, and I didn't want to mess with that.
Whereas the MASH is the dreary grey on grey colour scheme and cause all the kids want one now, its become like the hipster passé bike that snobs turn their noses up to, I love it and want it to be as mad and ratty and beaten and rad and mine as possible... in ALL the wrong ways! :D

yeah... i'm in a bit of a dilemma. I cant have four fully built bikes (all of them track) it doesnt make sense plus i have a frame in BCN shop for sells and has been for ages.
basically i need to sell one and the frame in BCN also.
The concept is set up for the track (currently closed for summer and hasnt reopened yet after the sweltering month of August. any day now tho), its in great nick and i still really dont want it to get ratty. it gets used twice a week not including any events (no events participated inyet but that is hopefully changing)
Mash is being used for out of the velodrome rides anything from 15-40km during the week and 50-100km on the weeknds and has more recently been used in TT set up just for the hell of it. and actually the low bro-ness of it is allowing a nice position (although really i know jack about correct positioning)
Rush hour pro is currently my about town 10 minute journey ride. its a beast, its the heavier of the 3 but a monster and 10 minutes is not doing it justice. 10 minutes wouldnt do any of them justice.
i regret not using the concept more but dont want to knacker it. I feel awesome (10 times the man) on the Raleigh and want to use it more, and i freaking love riding the mash. its so damn fun to ride and has been since day one. i went from a conversion to the mash and it was like running barefoot on sharp gravel to running in nike huarache's on the moon, and has been every day since.
when i move back to London (not 100% on date or in fact if it wil be London but) i'll prob need to downsize even more but for now i really think i need to let one go.
I have come to the conclusion the MAsh should be the one to go but i cant bring myself to do it because i ride it so much and love doing so however if i wanted to get one again, i probably could relatively easily. but also i really feel i will regret selling on the concept or the raliegh and replacing them would be more difficult.
can anyone bring some clarity to this? i realise having 3 basically the same bikes for 3 different uses is quite excessive and i prob need to htfu, be a man a sell one. after all its just a bike and once it is gone i'll wonder what all the fuss was about.

sorry. thats long. derailing my own thread. thank fuck it is friday tho.
-
• #112
you have a Bianchi?
sell the mash, as you say, easiest to replace if you did want another.
Ride the Raleigh more, maybe get some bull horns on there rather than drops though?
-
• #113
its got bulls at the mo...
no mash means i would prob use the concpet for long rides and the raleigh on the velodrome.
i hate having to change pedals and wheels when wanting to quickly bolt outta the house to the beer shop before it closes so means the lo pro could end up being the 10 minute around town bike... as long as i am careful when locking up then i guess that could work.

Damn you multi-bike people, I'm having to cope with just one!
Although some point in the not to distant future am looking at getting a geared CX bike.
-
• #115
Sounds like you defo need to downsize.
When shall I collect the Raleigh? -
• #116
Buy some more pedals ;-) if you an afford to, and it's not causing you any financial issues and you can afford to eat it's a great extravagance to have a few bikes. It sounds like you love them all. I manage to rotate 8 or 9 bikes often enough.
Can't stop looking at the lovely blue shade of that frame. -

When shall I collect the Raleigh?I've just realised, you sold me the alloy campagnolo cog the other day ;-)

• #118
sell mash and use bianchi on velodrome.
your seatpost looks the tits
-
• #119
Sell me the Rush hour, you know it's the right thing to do ;)
-
• #120
If the rush hour one is the bike in the background that's white/black with pursuit bullhorns, I'd be interested. PM me if you ever want to sell it with price/pictures.
Also, LOVE that lo-pro frame. Can't wait to see it fully built up!

repped for 7am giggle.
amazing bikes, too. raleigh frame is, dare i say it, splendiferous! -

Agreed, never seen a chrome panasonic colour scheme.
-
• #123
not sure if this was mentioned in the previous 3 pages but 753 is manganese moly, not titanium...
Ti hadn't even been discovered in 1986...
-
• #124
That maybe true but in this instance Ti does not refer to Titanium. It is the manufacturing name after Tube Investment Ltd aquired Reynolds tube company.

Update?
very nice indeed. love those or10's. i have a pair laced to low flange pista hubs from an 82 (i think) commonwealth games track bike. fantastic condition but dont have the right frame for them right now... a shame really.
