Rules are up:
-
• #85
**6.11 After a goal, If a goal is scored when a team is not ready even if the 3 players are back on their own half the ref migh use his discretion to refuse a goal.
**
wtf -
• #86
10.1.1. Shoulder-to-shoulder contact and *the use of forearms is permitted.*
should be interesting
**
11.1.3. Mechanical problem. The team with the player having the mechanical problem has the option to call a timeout or “mechanical” only after they take possession of the ball. If the team experiencing a mechanical problem is poised to score when the mechanical arises, they may opt to continue their attempts until such a time as, still in possession of the ball, they may call a mechanical timeout.*Only the player driving the ball is able to ask for a timeout.***
worth noting.

7.5.
...
Ball-jointing / side-jointing will be allowed ONLY in the player’s defensive zone. Ball jointing / side-jointing in the offensive zone will result in the ball turnover and concession of half-court.Awesome.
Also, forearms, awesome
Team not ready rule, wtf. -

wtfgood gentleman's rule imo.
-
• #89
stay on top of the game and dont get distracted celebrating, imo.
what determines if a team is ready or not? phrased far too loosely.
-
• #90
what is considered side jointing? especially since there is now a limit on cut outs
-
• #91
The "team not ready" rule is to avoid cheap shots after a goal. We used it at the FHBPC, but overall teams played fairly, and didn't use the opportunity of the reset to try long "surprise" shots.

• #92
**7.4.2. **A shot from an offensive player that deflects off the broad side their teammate’s mallet will be viewed as a shuffle and will not count as a goal.
this is strange - will mention it to greg
-
• #93
There were plenty of talk about cheater mallets prior to this, not enforced?

2.3.3 The inner diameter of any hole on the mallet head may not exceed 57mm.
Yep, they are banned in their current form.

I think that's fine. If you are going to ban shuffle goals, then having that rule makes it a lot simpler, otherwise there is too much of a grey area.

I get the point, but don't agree, I think teams should keep their head in the game, and celebrate at the end. It's so easy to avoid getting scored on in that situation.
But the way this rule is written just isn't a rule, it's such a huge grey area, and completely up to the refs interpretation.

It looks like they missed a lot of the feedback on the NAH draft, oh well.
Spring Break are going to have a fucking field day with forearms allowed, I think it's a shame to legitimise a messy/dirty part of the game, but c'est la vie.
It'll all depend on the reffing during the tournament to see how the newer rules are adopted, it's awesome that the NAH rules were used (in my opinion).

oops I had read this one too quickly, didn't see the word "teammate"

I disagree with forearms challenges being allowed, there's so much done on safety and this just brings it back to square one.
Using your forearm to push an opposition off their bike especially with a mallet in your hand is not a good idea at all. If you are good enough play the ball, if you are a ^&*() then push someone else off their bike with a forearm. There are enough contact as it is, forearm should not be allowed.
Let it be known, my wrist was (and is still) buggered from being checked into the fence at Downs. This was from a shoulder check. It was fair play and within the rules, but ^&*(ing someone up just to win? Get real.

Checking into the boards is permitted. Hope the boards for the wild-card are nice & high.
El Club is not going to be in euros this year.
