How to tie a sling from a triangular bandage.
1) Identify right angle and two 45 degree angles.
2) Put right angle to elbow.
3) Tie 45 degree angled corners together but attempt to offset knot from centrre of neck.
4) Pin or sticky tape excess cloth to neaten up and prevent elbow slipping back.
Simples!
Alternatively:

Secure with handy cable ties round wearer's wrist.
Keep excess handy cable ties for bike fettling.
Apologise for naff flesh-coloured cable ties
