  • Ill be happy to donate.

I was also thinking maybe a forum trip down to him when hes a bit better. Either by bike or by train

  • A flight from Scotland for you to visit him when he can take visitors.

This is a very good idea, I know I'd be keen to have friends round if I were in recovery.

  • I suggested that and 8ball seemed dead set that the cash go to Jason... Perhaps we should fix his presumably shafted bike? He'll be back on it in no time and a pringled wheel will be no fun at all.

    Hi

Yeah I'm ok, I'd rather everything went to J and family or whatever, although I appreciate the kind thought

  • Just a note to say you fine people have so far donated £205 pounds to Jason/family - the flowers that were sent were £63 (they were delivered but not taken into unit - I bloody hope they find their way to him) so that leaves £142 - any thoughts on what we should do with it?

If anyone does want to contribute in lieu of a paypal or any other type of pot, I've been giving people my bank details - just PM me

Will donate some more after next payday.
    keep accumulating for now.

  • He's not clear of the woods as yet by any means but today 3 old friends visited J and it was really positive - Jason had about 5 mins with each person but became exhausted towards the end, however he is up in bed and chatting and remembering stuff and was really pleased to see them all, as were his parents who I think appreciated it.

So it's wonderful news - he did ask his Dad if they had 'caught the man' meaning the driver, but I don't know to what extent he fully realises what has happened to him - by his own admission to one of our old mates Richard today, he is 'out of his head' on drugs - apparently he's been singing Lucy in the sky with diamonds, ha ha!!

Anyway, if he continues to improve he is likely to be moved back to Poole, so fingers crossed more visiting will become feasible, but as yet I think whilst today was very beneficial all round, they might leave it for a wee while before he sees anyone else

    Cheers all x

  • That's excellent news.

  • pleased to hear that..

  • good news.
    glad to hear he's improving.

  • brilliant :)

  • Awesome, absolutely fantastic....made my day!

  • Brilliant news, glad to hear it seems to be going better.

I think WrongCog's idea of putting some of the money towards getting him on the (or a) bike again is a great one - if you really won't take it to get yourself a flight to see him. Though I second (or third, or whatever) both the idea that you deserve it, and that he would no doubt benefit hugely from it. Thanks again for keeping us up to date.

  • Great news! Thanks for the updates Eightball.

  • just saw this thread. Harrowing read, but great to see things are getting better.

  • great news, and I can only repeat anything that might be / have been said, but thanks for the updates and heal soon J.

  • Went to visit today. The short version is he knew who I was and he knew what he did. Noticed that I'd had a tattoo done since he saw me a week ago. I am very happy about this development.
